Saul "Canelo" Alvarez close to finalizing Floyd Mayweather fight
    by Lois
Jan 30, 2012 - Two separate sources, one close to Golden Boy Promotions, and the other to W.B.C junior middleweight champion Saul Alvarez have informed The Boxing Truth that the undefeated twenty-one year old Mexican is in the final stages of negotiations for a May 5th fight with Floyd Mayweather.
Apparently, a May 5th fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao is dead in the water, and Mayweather will fight “Canelo” on May 5th - the Cinco de Mayo holiday.

Pacquiao - Bradley is a good choice.

Floyd Canelo is 100% mismatch. Why cant Floyd fight Cotto? Cotto said he's willing to fight him.

Canelo isn't ready. But I guess there is always that element of anything can happen in boxing. Surprised GBP are allowing this to push through.

As for Bradley-Pac. Good fight I guess.

Big ass Canelo at 154 is a good and dangerous fight for Floyd, far better than shot, no heart having Cotto who Canelo would beat the **** out of at this stage. Bradley is decent for Pac, also better than Pac vs Cotto 2, but a foregone conclusion since Bradley has fists made of cotton balls and will not be able to make Pac respect him, Pac will steamroll him and everyone will talk about how the old Pacs back despite him looking bad in his last 2 fights coming down to the style match ups. The old Pac never left, he just fought guys with styles he can't solve. Bradley's aggressive style plays right into Pacs hands, he's going to destroy Bradley. Bradley vs Pac= mismatch but one that Pac will actually get credoit for winning, good pick by Arum.

When was the last time Floyd fought anybody outside of the GBP stable? Martinez is also a far superior opponent.

Bradley vs Pac will be very entertaining.. Floyd vs Canelo will be very lopsided. Course HBO will hype up Canelo as this unstoppable Mexican boxing machine n the casual fans will eat it up.

    No surprise here.

I'll see the fights, but I am damn sure not paying for them. Hopefully they do poor PPV numbers, although I doubt they will.
