I agree. The Baby Face Assassin is one of the best brawler/boxers there is better then Marquez now. He clearly was better then JMM at least that night.

Great fight gonna watch it right now actually.

    Agreed on all counts.

The skill level, finesse and science between both was terrific from one through twelve.

Like I said, very tired! :good

Your thread in the lounge about who graduated from where was spot on. Spelling and grammar is very distant from knowledge :deal

Because it really wasn't that impressive from Marco, and the decision was fair. It was more like the last gasp. If he had had a little more left in the tank it would be talked about more. I'm happy to see so many people thought MAB won, given that I'm a HUGE mab fan, but I didn't. I thought JMM took it fairly comfortably.

Barrera was past his peak when they fought. JMM would never beat a prime Barrera.

Barrera who has a killer left hook, very explosive one punch power, and prime for prime is every bit as good as Marquez or maybe even better (maybe not from a technical standpoint, but overall) is a very tough style to cope with for JMM.

Its amazing to me how much Barrera has dropped in popularity......its upsetting really. Morales is the one who seems to be immortal, despite dropped 2 fights to Barrera. I am a big fan of both, but sports are just strange that way.

Great fight that does deserve a mention. Its funny how this fight seems to have been ignored for large parts.

I felt they were both past their best but because JMM is still operating well, I think we all think Marquez was also prime

last time marquez fought a prime guy other than pacquia he lost to chris john,

marquez tried to cherrypick a faded barrera but got made to look a fool

It's one of the stranger phenomenoms.:think
He was the best of the three Mexican warriors for me and even though I have seen excellent arguments from posters I respect,I will never, ever agree that Morales was better than Barrera.Marquez and Morales will be in my top 10 ATG's till my dying day but for me personally,Barrera was the best of them.Only my opinion though and opinions are what it's all about...

It's the OLDH syndrome. MAB was a little too cerebral and gentlemanly in demeanor for a good percentage of boxing fans. Not a genuine 'tough guy' no matter how he fought in the ring.

Excellent fight , one of Marco's last great performances , I will hold that as a win for Mab as I gelt he won .

Really showed how much ahead Marco was over JMM.

Now if we can get Moraleds and Marquez in the ring .
