Khan couldn't handle Peterson's strength, Ortiz will be way to big & strong for Khan

I think you mean Peterson's endurance, not strength, in terms of strength it was Khan who was knocking Peterson over. Peterson didnt come close to flooring Khan once.

But yeah Khan didnt cope with Peterson's endlessly charging into him all night.

Ortiz will tax that ass. No way Khan would take it.

And I just got some interview footage with Floyd about an hour ago when he was presenting a check to Habitat for Humanity for its Blitz Build project. Leonard Ellerbe gave an emphatic "No!" when asked if they'd consider Ortiz for May 5. Floyd agreed and said maybe after he gets some more wins under his belt he'd consider it. But as for May 5 for an Ortiz rematch. Count it out completely. Won't happen. Also, no word on who the May 5 opponent will actually be, but a fight will occur on May 5, that's for sure.

100k will be his total contribution, but he only presented a 50k check today.

Ortiz is far too strong physically for Khan.

I've always fancied Ortiz to beat Khan, even after his loss to Maidana, which was laughed at at the time. If he fights in the determined manner he has recently, he'll knock Khan out but his mentality worries me. He didn't beat Peterson because he stepped off the gas and I fear that could happen against Khan, who he probably likes too much to want to hurt. Ortiz is at his best when his back is against the wall and if he is too respectful towards Khan, he could **** it up. If he fights like he can, I think he'd stop Khan in about 9 rounds.

  9. Wow, I would absolutely LOVE to see this fight. I couldn't call it. Speed vs Power.
    Make it happen!

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think Ortiz is that much slower than Khan.

He isn't, but hooks will generally always be slower than Khans straight punches

Ortiz would complately decimate him of this I'm 100% sure.

It isn't really practical though, Khan is yet to moveup to 147, and Ortiz has a ringweight not too far from being a SMW.

After a few rounds taking bodyshots, trying to jump in and out throwing pitter-pat shots wouldn't work for Khan, then it's running time.

Make this fight. I don't think Ortiz hand speed is in Khan's league (still fast though), but I'll go with Ortiz' power in this one.

  14. Hmm Ortiz certainly isn't slow. But I don't think he comes close to Khans handspeed or in an out footwork.

haha, maybe. He might be buying some goodwill but I think his intentions are good sometimes also. Only Floyd knows I guess.
