Goodfellas is better than Godfather IMO.....

 

I enjoyed Goodfellas more. I thought Pacino was at his absolute pinnacle in Godfather II and turned in one of the greatest performances in cinematic history. Extremely brooding yet subtle, genius. :deal

 

I loved Goodfellas, but couldn't sit through Godfather. It's a great film, I'm sure, the problem is entirely mine, but I just couldn't get into it.

The Departed ruled, too.

I think the First Scene of The Godfather transcends every other mob movie, including what they every one of them did and tried to do.

Brando ain't even Italian but he's better than DeNiro and Pacino. This scene is a study in subtle power, manipulation, history, and true justice. We don't even need to see what happened to Bonasera's daughter's rapists to know that it was something horrific.
