Rigo should stay right where he is , his future fans , apart from the cubans , will be THE WORLD , once Rigo develops more in the pros he will get his fans , he's already very well known in Europe , even more than any Puerto Rican or Mexican fighter ( exept JMM ) and the Americans are getting to know him little by little , Rigo's even famous in Russia so he will be alright . You are as usual also wrong about Miami cubans not suporting their fighters , it's the promoters who don't promote them properly , they have their cash cows already ( overhyped cows who cherrypicked all their careers ) and don't want to
jeopardise that by fighting real boxers .

Then why did he pick an unknown Narvaez with no fan base in NY?
Isn't nonito himself a big draw? His excuses ducking Rigo are making him look bad. Only hope Vasquez kick his ass

Oh ! i know! Narvaez was a little dude with no power who fought only in Argentina.
but those Rigo's body punches are evil... i understand Nonito

That, and the greatest amateur fighter who ever lived, but who's keeping score?

I'd never thought I would see a time where a talented fighter like Guillermo Rigondeaux, one of the greatest amateur fighters who ever lived and a great professional boxer reaching a career apex, being called a bum. As fans we have truly become jaded and completely disrespectful.

How could anyone call Rigondeaux a bum? He's one of the greatest amateur boxers ever! He's won a world title on his 9th fight with hardly no promotion or fan base, Donaire is ducking Rigo /thread

you can still watch a fight and notice your surroundings so your point is pretty mute.

At least Rigo is prepared to stake his title to prove who is the better fighter. Donaire could learn a lot from that!

the saddest thing about boxing today is the ignorance of most their fans regarding the sport.A fan base, that's a new excuse.People just linning behind their countrymen and ignoring the fact of what a good boxer is.If you are a good fan of the sport you are gonna watch Sergio Martinez and Rigondeaux wherever they are.You dont have to be mexican to love JMM or rican to support Cotto.Neither pinoy to like Manny or Nonito himself.I'm a huge Pac fan( not a *******) i've always watched his fights ever since he beat Barrera. Why? because i love boxing.

Needs a bigger fanbase. High risk low reward. Although if Nonito is serious about fighting the best he should accept the challenge.
