...that night. My point stands. Arce in a rematch is much, much, much more beatable for Vazquez than Donaire is.
I respect Vasquez Jr for taking on Donaire, but he needs to stop acting like a little *****. He can worry about Arce and call him out after this fight. That little girl bitchslapped Jr back to PR.
By reading some of the comments here you'd think Arce destroyed Vasquez in one round. Two judges had it even going into the last round and true he was on his way to losing the 12th decisively but the stoppage can be argued premature.
See to me, this sentiment is just backward. The fact that he hung in there as long as he did once the going got tough on the night against Arce, and the fact that he's now getting in there with Donaire despite some difficulty cutting weight mean that he's got cojones of steel. He can pretty much say whatever the **** he wants about Arce. It doesn't amount to any more than the same hot air that all boxers blow (especially about foes that are one-up on them). This is nothing to get hung about. People really need to sheathe their kitty claws and pipe down with their mewling. Is it ridiculous to question Arce's heart, and call him things like a coward and a little girl? Yes. But so what? Boxers say ridiculous **** about their rivals all the time. Par for the course. ...and in this case, Wilfredo has a very legitimate gripe as Arce denying him the rematch has pretty much propelled him into this very daunting challenge against Donaire with a far worse risk/reward ratio than an Arce rematch would have carried. Unbunch your panties, everyone.
While I don't like WV2's complaining because he did get stopped, I do agree with this sentiment. I'd favor him in a rematch because Arce pulled that win out from the clutches of defeat.
making vazquez jr a champ and having him fight arce was premature--but the stoppage was not. However had that fight gone on vazquez jr risked losing whatever was left of his career. Regardless of how the judges had it the kid took a severe beating and was unable to earnestly answer arce's attack.
calling the man that whooped your ass a little girl is a ***** move that only damages one's own credibility.
That's fair - but a rematch wouldn't necessarily go the same way. In fact, there's every reason to favor the younger fresher guy to make the greater adjustments than the old war-torn guy who's been very erratic over the last few years (looking shot, then bouncing back, then looking shot again...)
He called him names because Arce denied him a rematch, which is a legitimate gripe. He is probably trying to challenge Arce's macho sensibilities and anger him into granting a rematch later this year. Of course, he really should be focusing on the guy in front of him..
Like I said what has he done to deserve a rematch.... Arce won't fight him because he is going back down to his natural weight as he wants to make history by winning another division. Besides Zanfer chooses his opponents.
