Weird that this photo should just pop up after all these years..you'd think this would have been known of somehow..

 

Well, Liston was pretty much being ignored at the time. He was hiding in Sweden when this happened. To American boxing fans at least, this was a very obscure comeback of a man who really was considered over-the-hill and a disgrace. I can see why him being floored by a Patterson kind of slipped under the radar.

..... having said that, it obviously DID make it in to the printed pages !

Right.

 

It's almost obvious that Liston took it easy on him and Patterson (Ray) didn't . Floyd was far better than his younger brother who didn't have a good chin either as evident in his record .
