MIne would be - 1/ Frazier-Ali 1971 2/ Ali-Norton II 1973 3/ Ali-Foreman 1974 4/ Ali-Frazier III 1975 5/ Foreman-Lyle 1976 What about yours ? Loads to more I could have chosen. Holmes-Norton,for one.
Of course Ali vs. Frazier I and III....Quarry vs Shavers...Saad Muhammed vs Lopez I and Johnson II...Holmes vs Norton....Duran vs DeJesus I....Foreman vs Lyle....There were just so many good fights during that decade I'll need more time to think of some more but those are a few that readily come to mind
I agree with all the choices mentioned above. However, some of you have gone 'off thread' Take a look at the TITLE of my thread ! I limited it to a certain time period for a particular division because it would have been extremely hard to call, otherwise.
Ok just 70's heavyweights bouts eh, ok Frazier-Ali 1 Ali-Foreman Foreman-Lyle Quarry-Frazier 2 Frazier-Foster
hmmm, neat thread ali-frazier 1 ali-frazier 3 frazier-quarry 1 holmes-norton frazier-ellis 1 holy ****, that's a lot of frazier (rip)
IMHO it was not a fight I'd take to a desert island. Jerry was going downhill big time and didn't belong in the ring with Joe that night. Three months earlier he got clocked in the first round by journeyman Joe Alexander. For example, Lyle-Shavers beats that mismatch by a mile. Among many others...
