Size, size, size. You can always be assured somebody who knows **** will determine a winner based on size and weight alone. There were big guys around, but smaller guys like Frazier ate them alive. Sam Peter couldn't carry Joe Fraziers spit bucket. Joe was way too fast, threw too many punches and was way too hard to discourage. Peter stood still and upright, was slow and threw one punch at a time. Joe would have killed him. If size means everything , than the greatest heavyweights of all time are Jess Willard, Primo Carnera and Nico Valuev.
I agree with you, but even if size was important, Peter lost to a guy barely bigger than Frazier and Frazier beat a fighter who was the same size as Peter. To make it even less significant, Frazier was a million miles better than Chambers and Mathis was better than Peter.
You can't be serious about your first sentence. The 70's HW division was the best ever. There were HW fighters that did not win any title that would easily be champions today. I am not shitting on the K brothers and the K brothers would give anyone hell in any decade. They most definitely would not have the HW division on lock with fighters from the 70's. Ron Lyle would have been a terror today.
jerry quarry was 195 lbs..........i hate to say it.... but jerry quarry tkos fatt fuk peter late:smoke
peter was more powerfull than foreman as well.............lol...............fuk dude the 42 yr old version of foreman woulda put peter to sleep / perfect style for foreman....u sir////////////////////////...................................are the dumbest fukin human god created:---(
Imagine if I suggested that Sam Peter would struggle with a 40-year-old, 5ft 9", shot, obese, 230lb version of former middle-weight Marvin Hagler (if such a version were to exist). Some of you here would roll around laughing. Well, that is exactly what happened when Peter fought James Toney, he was lucky to get the nod in that fight. He also lost to fat, 6ft, 220lb Chambers, who wouldn't even be a heavyweight if he was in proper shape. But yeah, Peter would be to big and powerful for Joe Frazier
If you were going to show Peter at his very best, you should apply the same rules to Frazier. [yt]wEhQe6R09vo[/yt]
Damn right, Peter knows how to lose to Middleweights & Cruisers... Yet he is "too big" to be beaten by an ATG Heavyweight? :huh
