Erm.... I bet there isn't all that much in it to be honest. Obviously potentially beating Marquez is a bigger prize, seen as he's beaten Khan already. It depends what their views are on ''risk/reward'' - Khan is an easier fight for him than Marquez, if the money is the same/similar..... I think Marquez vs Peterson would be a fun fight, but one that would end badly for Lamont, he's just not THAT good, as likeable as he is. I'm not sure where to be on this. Unless Marquez does a Calzaghe/Lacy job on him he'll probably not get the nod. He was a clear winner last time and didn't get it, after all.
Im also pretty convinced that Pacquiao himself isnt too keen on a fourth one. Midway through the third, JMM really had him dejected. As a Pacquiao fan, Id hate to see him walk into the fourth without any motivation or hope. I really think his love for the sport may be dying. Its already pretty clear that hes fighting solely to drum up money for his political aspirations.
Lol thought that myself after the last Marquez V Pacquio battle.:yep IMO Khan would get his head ripped off by Marquez if he fought anywhere near as well as he does against Pacman...after seeing that, its clear to me, hes still got far too much for Khan, might always have....hes got that toughness, combined with real ring IQ. Peterson V Marquez could be a great fight, though Marquez probably still has too much left for Lamont. This could probably bring in as much cash for Peterson as fighting Khan, plus its much more of a challenge trying to figure out/implement a way to beat a living legend...than just beating Khan again.

For years Tijuana’s Erik ‘El Terrible’ Morales and Marquez fought in or near the same weight class of 126 pounds yet a bout between them never materialized. But with Morales’ 2010 comeback to the sport and a solid 2011 that saw him give Argentinean brawler Marcos Maidana hell before lifting his fourth world title this past September with a victory over Pablo Cesar Cano at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, the possibility of a clash between them isn’t of reach. Who knows how things will play out, however, as Marquez had stated his only real interest is a fourth fight with Pacquiao. Marquez has also seen his name linked to the likes of Timothy Bradley, Mike Alvarado, and David Diaz in recent weeks, and Morales is likely right that he simply isn’t a priority at this point in time. But it shouldn't be a worry to Morales, who has a serious task in front of him in the form of unbeaten Danny Garcia. Morales defends his belt against the tough Philadelphian on March 24th in Houston, Texas on HBO's airwaves.

Would make Marquez the first legitimate four weight world champ :yep Anyone else agree? Peterson is the man with the belts, he is the MAN because he beat the MAN. Cano or whatever his name was is a nobody and the fight was for Tim Bradley's title, Morales didn't deserve to be fighting for it. He's a title holder, not a champion.
