De la Hoya confirms Canelo on May 5th Undercard. Who should it be?

What I see as realistic ranging from most likely to least:
Mosley
Mayorga
Bundrage
Spinks
Angulo

 

Guys it WILL NOT BE A TOP RANK FIGHTER. NO Margo. NO Rodriguez. It will be a GOLDEN BOY FIGHTER so no P-Will. Mosley or Angulo.

Margarito is nothing. I could name 500 active fighters easily that are better than he.

 

At this point? After 39 pro fights and claiming a title? Maybe when he's 45 fights into his professional career? 50? He's young, there's no debating that, but c'mon. That said:

The time might be ripe for a guy like Canelo to pounce on a Margarito.

As long as he can stand up to the shots Tony will get in (and he'll get some in - for all his Mayweather imitations, Saul ain't PBF), the risk/reward is very, very good. Margarito is a downtrodden, kicked-around and past-it fighter - but he still has a name and would draw big #s as a popular Mexican dance partner for the popular young Mexican star on Cinco De Mayo and guarantee a shitload more PPV buys than if Canelo fought someone like Rodriguez (who's awesome, but Mexicans don't know who the hell he is...)
