that is so true... at least he will get paid well to get the boxing lesson of his life (though I think Cotto may quit on his stool)
probably 154, i dont see why cotto would cry about coming down for pac and then agree to do it for floyd.
If I was Miguel Cotto He needs to find a balance with his footwork, usually he's either in come forward plod mode, or latin step retreat and box off of the back foot. If he can find a balance where he's light on his feet and giving himself the option of changing the angle as he attacks, then he'll give himself an extra dimension. Miguel Cotto is not a difficult guy to figure out. Start with the jab and pump it. When he pumps the jab it's great, sometimes he gets lazy and flicks it out there. He needs to pump it and keep it working. Double and tripple it up, it's there to occupy Floyd. Follow through with a right hand to the stomach or chest and then hook with the left. Land the right hand or atleast throw to the chest and occupy Floyd's defence with it, then step into close range, bring the left hook to the liver and press your head into Floyd's chest to take the sting out of any counter. Switch on rare occasion. Floyd can be hit with a left hand lead, not all the time, but some. This will be dangerous for Cotto because it opens him up to a right hand lead from Mayweather, he'd need to literally switch, throw the straight left lead and then move off to the side and revert to a natrual stance. I don't expect all of that to work, but they're a few ideas I'd be considering if I was Cotto. (I don't see him winning no matter what)
DLH didn't just stop using the jab on his own, he stopped because Floyd took his jab away from him. Cotto shouldn't rely on the jab that much because Floyd is going to use a pull counter right hand over his lazy jab all night.
First I'll be at the gym since a month ago and be at the very best shape of my life ala Tito Trinidad on his hay day. Second, I'll hire brother Nazz and Stewart in order to help with the tactical plan. I honestly think that Cotto has a chance of an upset. He is not shot, most of you don't even know what that means. He is definately not at his peak but from a decline to shot there's a big difference. Mentally I think this is the right time as he exorcise some daemons against Margo so he is on that high note. During the fighgt, keep the jab in his face, change from southpaw to regular stance every half of round in order to make it harder on Floyd. Try to get him against the ropes as Ortiz was able to make it and bang that body like he knows how to do it. If Fliyd can't hurt Cotto, Cotto will be able to fight forward and on that mode he is a beast. If Floyd makes Cotto fight on the back foot Floyd will have an easy win.
He must have one somewhere :huh His right hand has improved in recent fights, surely he can pump it to the body if need be.
I've never seen Floyd hit with a left hook in any of his fights.....NEVER. THat punch will not land of Floyd, DLH couldn't even land that punch and it was his money punch.
