Why Are People Complaining about Mayweather Fighting Cotto?

Cotto's movement in the ring has improved a lot. Keeps him from getting caught flat footed or against the ropes. I just wish he still kept his body attack he used to employ.

i would say anyone who believes that probably belongs in the same class as anyone who thinks that victor ortiz was going to eventually come on over the next 7 rounds and was robbed out of a chance to do so

HUGE Cotto fan as well, but I gave him more props for his recent win over Margarito.
To me it was who Cotto meant to be, that is to be more disciplined with his style.
Not saying I don't enjoy the brawling every once in a while tho.:good

 

I don't belive he abandoned it, it just would have been a horrible choice against Marg I'm sure his trainer will have him using it against Floyd.

Edit. He did abandon it but I have faith his trainer sees what alot of fans see and tell him to get to it, not to mention Floyd has longer reach n 2in taller

 

None of that matters since Cotto is the best option available. He offers the best combination of the most money and biggest challenge. The only other fighter available that has earned this type of payday would be Paul Williams.

So Cotto being shot means nothing if he is the best available.

 

I have been genuinely more excited to see Cotto-Mayweather than May-Pac for a few months now, probably since Cotto-Margo II.

I think all the bull**** with May-Pac caught up with me. I would still love to see that bout. But at the minute...

Because they are haters and/or idiots. Cotto is one of, if not the best guy at 154 and while he might have declined a bit due to two horrific beatings he is far from shot and he actually looked to have gotten a bit more life in him when he clowned Margacheato. Floyd will handle him but it will have nothing to do with Cotto being a **** or shot fighter and everything to do with the fact that Money May is the best fighter in the business today, bar none.

And to any moron claiming that this is just business as usual with Money styling on another no-hoper, get this through your skull. Anyone below 160 is a no-hoper against Floyd because he's that damn good, and yes, that includes your hero Pac who never met a right hand he didn't like and can't even stay on both feet when throwing punches. If Pac was to fight Floyd, and we all know that he doesn't want that, he would likely be made to look even stupider than Cotto will. At least Cotto has some grasp of fundamentals.hi:

 

I'm logical :huh I think Floyd would beat Pacquaio but by no means do I defend everything he has and will do. I give Pacquaio credit where he deserves it (Barrera, JMM(1), Cotto and Hatton to a large extent) but I don't agree with the large amount of credit he gets for other fights.

 

Big Cotto fan, and as I've said I believe he boxed really good that night and thus the win, but I can't say I wasn't concerned with how Margo was slowly getting to Cotto.

I was convinced that Cotto was a better boxer during his recent outing vs Margarito, what I'm not sure of is if his heart was better too.

 

Because Floyd ducked the prime, undefeated version of Cotto, and now wants to fight the past-prime version.
