Exactly! Everyone complaining about this fight really needs to see the big picture. This is no ***** catch weight that Manny would insist upon, this is 154 and Cotto's division.

Big credit should go to Floyd for stepping up. Meanwhile Pac-Man will fight a blown up 140 pounder.

 

Well the thread starters title is actually a fact.

 

He didn't have the balls to face him at 147, let alone 154.

Weird how he was cool with fighting Oscar at 147 two fights before that, and Clottey at 147 in his very next fight?

He also refused to fight Shane Mosley unless it was at 142, but Cotto was only the 2nd ranked WW in the division, so 145 was acceptable.

Couldn't meet Marquez at 140 though, he's obviously too big for that weight.
Good news is we get 140lb Tim Bradley at 147lb for his next fight.

 

Pac said after margo fight that he would never venture again above 147 coz of the damage his body has sustained on that fight.

Now I ask you, why floyd cant fight Martinez at 154 but hes ok with cotto at 154? nut

I think if Pacquiao made a fight with Cotto at 154, people would say it was pointless as he has already beaten him. He didnt exactly drag Cotto down from 154 to fight him. In fact, Cotto had only ever fought has high as 147 pre pacquiao. What would a fight at 154 prove?

Having said that, I give Mayweather full props for taking the fight. For me, this is the best alternative other than Mayweather - Pacquiao.
