Kirkland is the man for that job because Canelo would put him on baby horse legs with the first jab that connected and the follow-up behind it would flatten him. Kirkland has no defense and no Chin and regardless of how poorly I feel Canelo fares in those areas, he's still light years better than Glass Jaw Kirkland.

I would like to see him fight Lara because that is a competitive fight in which I would favor Lara for a myriad of reasons, but since you people are looking for who would boost Canelo's image in the public eye it has to be Kirkland. He made feather fisted Ishida look like the 154 answer to a prime Mike Tyson so it is almost certain that Canelo would obliterate his Frangible Mandible in a matter of seconds. What a disgrace!:lol::rofl:rofl:rofl

Clottey isn't worth the whole risk vs reward. I only see bad things in that fight. Angulo would be the perfect fight for him. However I wouldn't expect angulo's people to allow that fight at this point

Wouldnt mind Canelo finally ending the career of Mosley.

A fight v Ortiz would be great!

Someone like Kirkland or Williams would make for a very good and interesting fight with Alvarez, but no way those happen on May 5. Those are big HBO headlining fights on their own.

I think Alvarez's opponent on May 5 depends on where he fights. If he headlines his own show in LA and there is a split site ppv than he probably fights Mosley or possibly Mayorga. Both would sell well at the gate and make for a big addition to the ppv, I think this is the most likely scenario.

If Alvarez actually fights in Las Vegas as a true undercard fight than I think the opponent is going to be a lot smaller name than Mosley or Mayorga. Maybe Delvin Rodrigues, Molina(if he beats Kirkland), or someone like Hearns would all be likely options. Lara is a high risk/low reward fighter and I can't see GBP making that fight unless they had to.
