Cotto isn't exactly a big light middle though is he? Weight means little here IMO.

The same could be said of Mayweather not being a big welter when he fought Hatton but you still use it at every opportunity to discredit the win.

The point is that Ricky had so much success at 140 because he was a big ten stone fighter. Negated by moving up.

Even if he was great at 147, hardly that great a win is it? I really go out my way to 'discredit' Floyd don't I? I'd love to know why I only judge one fighter in the history of the sport based on his personality?

    And Bryn :rofl

Yeah, but to be fair, this will be Cottos 4th fight at light-middle, and Floyd's first in five years. Cotto seems to be fail comfotable, and has been fighting bigger men since he moved up. Weight will not be a major factor here yes, but it still has to be seen as a slight disadvantage to Floyd, which is good for Miguel.

Befoe I clicked on this thread I knew it would be you, tffp, and dftaylor complaining about this fight:lol:

Some fans are never happy with a good fight:deal

Where as Mayweather was a small welterweight, with his in ring weight only being 150lbs for his recent fight which is less than what Hatton was weighing in the ring at for his light welterweight fights.:hi:

Also if the weight doesn't matter with Cotto being a small JMW, why is it that Pacquiao wouldn't fight him above 147lbs?

It's great to see a fighter that has spent the majority of his career at SFW move up and fight the #1 ranked JMW not once, but twice!

You seem to think I'm some sort of pro-Pacqiuao anti-Floyd guy. Not true, I dislike all modern boxing :hi:

My only point is that the fight being at JMW is not that big a deal. Floyd is a natural Welterweight, who had every advantage over Hatton possible. Hatton was never great, so not all that great a scalp, Genaro Hernandez was a much better win.

Didn't spend the majority of his career at super feather, and it's also not that unprecedented a move in weight. Napoles did lightweight to middle and came in very light to fight a big middle in Monzon.

That should have been the G.O.A.T at SFW btw.

    My bad.
