I don't agree with this, Floyd has always got hit here and there.....his defense is still tip top and I think will be the last thing to leave him.

His new style doesn't make him get hit more, I can give plenty of examples of when he got hit during his prime too.

But still he hardly gets touched for a fighter who has been in the game so long and fighting other Elite level opponents.

I agree. If anything, this version of Mayweather is the most dangerous. He seems more comfortable at these higher weights (147-154) than he's ever been.

Floyd is losing his legs.... but I think its more of him moving up in weight, and fighting bigger, stronger opponents like Ortiz whom he has to stand up to, in addition to getting up there in age (almost 35). Floyd should be on top of his game more or less for another to years. The one thing I have always thought though is that when Floyd does lose.... he will take a terrible beating. His legs wont be there and he will try to shoulder roll on the ropes, but I feel like that person will just pound on him all night. It could be Alvarez lets say, who is big and strong enough to take the 37 year old Floyds counter and just pound him on the ropes all night, kind of like a much much bigger Jesus Chavez. We might be a while away from that however, as I think Floyd is going to utterly dominate Cotto, and hopefully for Floyds sake move back down afterwards.

I've heard Floyd say a few times that he wanted to fight Pacquiao before he got too old to do it. I think he's starting to notice a difference himself

Clearly he's declined, but he's still the best in the game today.

He must see it, that's why he's been adapting in recent fights.
I think he knows how he wants to fight Pacquaio, and knows that he'll need to rely on certain physical gifts to do it, so he needs that fight while he retains those gifts.

He's definitely past his prime, but that's to be expected at his age. I was actually expecting him to look more impressive in the Ortiz bout -- he didn't seem as sharp, accurate and fluid as he normally looks. I still favour him over Pac, but he's only making his job harder by waiting and declining.

What version of Mosley ? Mosley on EPO was a physical beast.
Mosley wasn't shot but his heart wasn't there either.
Mayweather dominated a 37 year old Mosley.

As a fighter, he is a bit past his prime.

Haven't reach his prime as a wife beater.

Clearly not as fast as he used to be but him and hopkins just know how to adapt with aging i.e. using dirty/questionable tactics. That and their ring IQ is the highest of any other boxers now.

I thought he looked very good against Ortiz, was tagging him with clean right hands.

For me the best Floyd will always be the one Corrales one, that leaping left hook with the jab to the body was beautiful to see.

He has certainly declined but like others said he has adapted his style to expend less energy- more flat footed and staying in the pocket.
