Mayweather clearly ducked Pac this time.
I heard one of the pre-conditions he demanded was that Pac has to wear the socks from the first Morales-fight.
    What a shame.

Floyd is the bigger draw and averages more PPV buys-Floyd is in the A side of the negotiations, thus he'll be making most of the offers...and he did.

Pac didn't want it bro-you'll find that the casual fan makes up the majority and they blamin Pac bro-

Try next time little buddy:good You lost this one by far-lol at the 45 million dollar offer-

Now Pac can go make about 10-15 million fighting Bradley and Floyd will go make 40-50 million fighting Cotto:deal:good..

Now look at those numbers from a negotiating standpoint, and school yourself:hat

Manny is only worth 30 million and hes use to not seeing the back end of profits anyways . 40 million is the best offer of his career.

Arum ducked the bout. Both Mayweather and Pacquiao seemed up for it. Arum was never happy with it.

Arum represents Team Pacquiao-so then Pac ducked it-Arum represents Pac and his stance in negotiations for the fight business:deal

I know that most people agree with you on that. I just dont get how thats true. When floyd offered $40 mill (30%, or even 25% if you believe some sources that this could make 150 million)

Manny said no (of course he did, that offer takes the ****) - They throw back a counter offer, but floyd has already signed to fight cotto.

So I have to admit I am struggling to see how Manny ran away.

The interview was just that, an interview. Manny also said on Jimmy Kimmell he'd fight floyd for free. (He was laughing when he said it because he was making a joke, but you could also take that out of context too)

But either way offering 25%-30% to a fighter, when nearly every credibly boxing writer agrees 50/50 is fair.

I must be missing something :huh

Nah, Arum has control over Pacquiao. Whether you believe Arum "represents" Pacquiao or not is up to you.

Both wanted the bout, Arum was having none of it.

I know man...I thought it would-straight up..I did-I was wrong on that one though-

I don't think itta ever be made now. Floyd seems to stick by his word and he said somewhere in the negotiations, that this would be Pac's last chance I believe.

blaming arum is easy and convenient. after all, he also talked alot of BS before. but this time, the two guys talk to each other personally on phone. each one discussed their proposals.

pacquiao said 50/50 and floyd got the fight. floyd said pac can't get 50/50 but offered him $40M guarantee.

so this would be a question of which is the more fair offer out of the two. yes it's not as easy to say and to relate who ducked who but the purse offer was the main issue why this fight never happened this time around.

i thought it was good news that floyd and pac were talking behind arum's back. suddenly, this announcement? yeah, i don't think the fight's happening at anytime at all. i thought may 5 was clear enough.

Floyd hadn't signed Cotto when Arum made the counter-

And the problem with the "counter offer" is that Floyd feels Pac was good off the first offer-He woulda made more money than he ever had-Floyd knew Pac couldn't make that kind of money anywhere else, so Floyd gave em the take it or leave it (interviews by both camps before/during negotiations) Pac didn't want it so Floyd told em to go make his 10-15 million fighting someone else then.

I see what your saying-I truly do and its a great point-In the end, there is enough money to continue to negotiate.

Also, off the subject-I believe Floyd looks at Cotto as more of a threat than Manny-I also believe Cotto has the style to make Floyd fight a very hard fight so I don't think he "ducked Manny" to fight Cotto by any means-I believe in Floyd's mind, Cotto is a tougher fight at a weight that is not his own.

I think it woulda done 3.5 million PPV buys had they done it on May 5...A rematch woulda been real nice in November:good. Sux man-the fans miss out on it.
