Who do you feel would come out on top between these 2 at their peaks be it at Middleweight or Supermiddleweight
Toney slips and counters all night, Eubank would give em a tough fight and rough em up a bit, but I just dont see him puttin Toney in a bad way, Although I think Chris would have a chance if he choose to box instead of go right at James and he could possibly take the decision
Toney runs very hot and cold as does Eubank but both on being on their very best form I'd say Toney wins a pretty clear UD. Just a higher calibre of fighter imo.
If Toney fought lazy, I could see Eubank winning a workmanlike decision. James at his sharpest and most positive though, is just the better fighter in almost every category.
A prime Benn ? you think ? I think Mike would of been too small to be dominant and i'm not totally sold on Toney at that weight. Who did he " beat up all night long " to make you think that? And a big NO on the Jones comment, punchers chance and thats stretching it :good
Benn wasn't a huge middle himself. It took him years to grown into super-middle. Benn's style was tailor-made for James, dipping in front of him and loaded up wide hooks. He systematically beat up Barkley, Thornton, Sosa and Prince Williams all night - the offensive fighters. Nigel was hit at will by awkward, cagey opponents like Sanderline Williams, Sims and Malinga in non-title bouts, not to mention Watson and Eubank in losses. Although admittedly he did improve his defense dramatically post- all of that, ducking and rolling and weaving into counters...I admit.
Good answer but Benn beats all of them you mentioned. That sims fight is under-rated by the way top fight, wasn't he Haglers brother in law or something. Remember Benn winning quite handily in the end after some fairly hairy moments ( standard for early Benn ). I was and am a big fan of mcallum i remember him blowing my mind beating mike watson up but watson was still very young then. I reckon prime benn would have been too big.
I don't know, Benn said before he fought Vincenzo Nardiello that it was the first time in four years that he felt like a full super-middle. He wasn't a big guy. Mind you, neither was Mike - Mike had a big fat tummy at light-heavy.
