why doesn't cotto get credit for beating Foreman at 154?

A win over Williams would be much greater than the Foreman win, but I would lean towards a Williams win on points or even late stoppage.

He doesn't get a lot of credit because a) Yuri was never that good and b) Pawel Wolak probably did a better job.

It is a very good win, but not a great one IMO

Because everyone thought Foreman was good until he was exposed as a pillowfisted fraud and decimated by Wolak...

Not a great win at all

Foreman was nothing special to begin with, and was crippled in that fight, his primary weapon is his footwork because he can't break an egg, and he couldn't even use it properly.

Foreman's best victory was against washed up inactive overweight Santos. How could Cotto be considered the underdog here is beyond me

Cotto's one of my favourite boxers and he has great wins over guys like Torres, Malinagi, Mosely, Judah, Clottey (could have went either way), Margarito and is a 3 weight champ. Tbh though I really thought he was going to win this as I wasn't impressed by Foreman and I actually thought he did ok against Pac. Yes I remember people saying YF would win but it's not a great win imo.

Seeing cotto outbox a taller, faster, and younger fighter at his weight coming off the wars he had, should be taking into consideration. He was outboxing the guy all night, the knee injury just sped up the inevitable.

I dont remember Cotto being an underdog, pretty sure he was the favourite. I bet on Cotto by KO but had he been a 3-1 underdog to win outright, I would have dropped everything on Cotto to win.

Just google Foreman - Cotto odds:

    And Eastside boxings Vbookie odds:

All from different websites. Perhaps you're mistaken, if anything Cotto was the 3-1 favourite.

Yuri Foreman was nothing ever but an average fighter. Featherfisted at best.

Disgraceful for anyone to claim this was some sort of great win. Disgraceful. you should be ashamed of yourself.

 i'm a cottoe fan and i agree

giving cottoe credit for beating foreman is like giving floyd credit for beating baldo or pacquiao credit for beating david ****en diaz.

It was a good win. Hindsight bias can warp even the best ones.

It was also probly a matter of time before his knee failed him. That being said Cotto beat a very good boxer who lacks the fire power to hold people off of him.
