You're right, though the sanctioning bodies do get lumped in with the championships/titles often enough that they tend to become synonymous
Me too mate, it's becoming hard to follow with so many champs in the WBA and WBC. The only issue i have with the IBF is they order eliminators regularly for the #1 and #2 spots, which is really just a way to make good money off a non title fight. The only Interim champ the IBF had i can remember is Shamba Mitchell? Can anyone else think of others?
ESPN had an article on that literally two days ago I think. It was about how Lazarte will fight for the third ever IBF interim belt while U. Solis heals up. It was Jesus Chavez who was the champ, and I forget who was the interim. Beat Chavez when they immediately met.
IBO and IBA are titles that people usually earn before the fight for a major one ( IBF, WBC, WBO, WBA ). Next best thing to winning a world title. WBC, WBA, WBO, IBF titles | | | | | | | | IBO, IBA | | | | | | WBF ( Bogus ) | | | | | EBU EURO TITLE | | | | | | | | | | | BBBofC and other Country/Regional titles.
