What do you guys think he needs to do to win the fight?

He needs to mix it up with a variety of shots as well, he cant let Floyd settle down into a rythm. He can't become predictable. The deeper the fight goes the more he is into Floyds territory. He has to try and land shots on Floyd early. Especially to the body.

This is what I think he has to do, what do you think?

    1) good cardio

    2) left hook/left jab combos

    3) be able to be just as fast as mayweather.

use timing...beat his shoulders and arms...throw in combination. do not load up on anything. mayweather is going to sit back and let cotto lead...so he'll have to use plenty of feints and throw with mayweather as he counters him. he also can't sit back waiting for clean openings that'll never come. he'll have to create them by throwing in combination. it's a very tough task....but cotto does have a chance. anyone remember cotto dislocating giancarlo broncos shoulder with a hook? i don't think he has that kind of snap left in his shots...but i think he'll have to do some of the same to mayweather and hope and pray that he can put mayweather at some sort of disadvantage to pull out the win. he won't be able to outbox mayweather. if he sits back and lets mayweather box....he'll be in for a long nite.

Well, Cotto has a great jab and he throws it unexpected at times and catches his opponents off guard with it. He needs to work his jab and circle to his right in case of a pull counter, making Floyd lunge just a bit further to land the right. If he can time if right, double and triple jab at times, Cotto can sneak in a right hand of his own as Floyd comes in to counter. He's gotta throw combinations and connect to Floyd's body as often as he can.

Floyd also likes the jab to the body, right up top. If Cotto can read that set up, he can counter with a left hook off the jab to the body from Floyd.

Fight on the offensive. Capitalize early on.

Not walk onto shots while May leans back and Cotto needs to lunge in with his shorter arms.

    Not gas out late.

Hit Floyd in his +4' ***** size over Cotto(e) and make it dirty like he did with Judah. "He broke my dick man, it hurt!"

I really don't no what Cotto can do that no one else has already tried. He's going to need a lot of luck on his end to pull this one off.

This fight IMHO will go to the cards. It is very difficult to envision a Cotto win, but he will have to bank the first couple by establishing his jab. From there, he will have to vary strategies. One thing he did earlier in his career was fight lefty, I think that is something that could give Floyd trouble if performed for short intervals. The straight left from a lefty stance has gotten to $ before (see Judah and Corley). Other times, circling to the right will be advantageous to avoid the counter right off Cotto's jab. Be the aggressor and bully at times, circle at others, make it harder for Floyd to time him.

    Tough match-up for Miguel though...
