You can argue that Cotto earned a payday when he beat Mosley, but it would have been a payday and nothing more. To assert that a bout between the two would at anytime have been competive is a joke.
Are you suguesting that Cotto is dangerous and a challenge for Mayweather? He's not. However all these years he's been built up as such. His pound for pound ranking has been in large part a result to the hype that sourounds him. His best win over Mosley was a fight that could have gone either way. He low blowed his way to victory over Judah. There is a lot to like about Cotto from a fan's prespecitive. He's acheived more than his physical abillities should have. However, he's not and never was the elite boxer he's been made out to be.
The con-job done on the public all these years makes this fight a farce.

You could argue? That victory over Mosley was and arguably still is better than any victory Mayweather has over 140lbs. Stating that it would have been a payday and nothing more is small-minded, and an insult to the unpredictability of the sport.

    Again, this assumption is small-minded.

At the very least, Cotto can make Mayweather work, so you completely writing him off is again...well, you know what I'm going to say. I scored Cotto-Mosley as a close but clear victory for Cotto (again, arguably better than anything Mayweather has done above 140lbs). It's like having a close bout, you lose credibility...what the ****s up with that? :huh

You talk like Cotto is this massive hypejob who has never really achieved anything in the sport...but gets credit for nothing. Cotto has two losses, he has avenged one, and the other he was up against a near enough peak P4P #1 who would most likely always give him trouble stylistically. IMO, you're very narrow-minded, and are letting other people on this forum influence your opinion.

One fight has nothing to do with the other. I happen to think that the 40 million lowball offer was Floyd's way of pricing himself out of a Pacquiao fight, but that's all irrelevant here!

If Floyd is OK with fighting at 154 and if you feel Cotto is unworthy, then why didn't Floyd offer Sergio Martinez a fight when the Pac negotiations "fell through"? How is Pac to blame for Floyd ducking Sergio?
