What is the reason for some people's dislike of the Klitschkos?

I think the brothers are fine people with a good image. In that sense, they're good for boxing.
I used to like the way Wladimir fought before they found out he's chinny. He was something of a specimen then, and took care of business. He was good to watch.

But really, his title reign is like one long uninterrupted stream of...nothingness.

I don't hate him; he's too bland to hate. I'm just completely apathetic to him.

And this^ is forever. If the Klitschko retire today no thread or pathetic post on some little boxing forum can chance it.:yep
The brothers names are set in stone in boxing history. Fans will be talking about them for fifty years after their gone.
And their not even done yet!:good

And once the brother are gone, another Eastern European will just pick up were the Klitschkos leave off.
The Berlin wall fell, things will never be like it was before in boxing.

Haters just can't see the big picture! They will never get away from the name Klitschko. Give up! It's over!:yep

  6. I don't dislike the Klitschkos - they seem like nice guys, particularly Wladimir. BUT I can't stand watching him because he fights so cautiously while facing guys he has every conceivable advantage over. It's painful to watch.

If a super middle weight was fighting a welterweight, but fought for 12 rounds just pumping the jab, throwing the occasional right hand and panicking every time the opponent attacked then they would get panned for it. Yet the Klitschko fans want to praise them for it. How can you be 6 inches taller than your opponent, outweigh them by 40lbs but fight so cautiously?

I'm not one of those fans who needs to see knock outs. But in every other division fighters are facing opponents of their own size and weight and not fighting half as cautiously as Wladimir does against smaller guys.

So cautious but so brutal. Highest knockout ratios in history, my lad.

Exactly. They'll also tell you how under rated Holmes was.

Y'know, because Larry was so exciting to watch.

    Hater.

  11. 12 rounds of jabbing at an out of shape, stationary opponent until they can take no more and fall down is not brutal. Going out there, combining offence and defence and getting these guys out of there in 2-4 rounds would be brutal. Knocking a guy out in the 12 after your own corner man screaming at you to do so for 4 rounds is not brutal. Getting dropped from HBO because you was so reluctant to do anything other than jab is not brutal.

A high KO% does not equate to brutality.

I'll say it again. If a super middle weight fought a welterweight as cautiously as Wlad fights his opponents, such as Haye, then they would be in for a great deal of criticism.

What fighter did Wladimir fight that was 6" shorter and 40lbs lighter??

  13. For example, Andre Ward does not get KOs because he does not have much power - yet he's my favourite fighter. He combines offence and defence, can fight in a number of styles and isn't afraid to engage opponents of the same size or bigger.

They deny what they see with their own eyes. It's a common trait among nuthuggers.

  15. If Carl Froch made a fight with Miguel Cotto, people would go insane, call it a ridiculous mismatch and write Froch of as a joke.

Then if Carl Froch proceeded to fight cautiously behind his jab for 12 rounds, throwing the occasional power shot and retreating every time Cotto looked to attack he would be laughed at and labelled a coward and a fraud. Do you agree?

Carl Froch is 6'1 and Miguel Cotto is 5'6
Wladimir is 6'6 and David Haye is 6'3

Carl Froch weighs 168lbs and Miguel Cotto weighs 154lbs
Wladimir weighed 242lbs and David Haye weighs 210 lbs when they fought

That is a ridiculous size and weight advantage to have over your opponent. And you wonder why people criticise Wlad's performances?
