Who will the promoter be for Tua or Barrett, assuming the fight is possible?

Where would the Banks fight be held? Who would the promoter be?

Break my arse, he is a main sparring partner to Tua and Cameron. Chauncy had no sparring for this dude because of ear infections prior to the bout. Mensah had a complete camp and prepared in country the whole time. Chauncy had to jet half way around the world. Mensah had everything going for him and he still got ran out of the ring and his body destroyed. People have called for a rematch but if this guy can't get it done with everything his way, he'll be ran out of the ring even earlier for any such waste of a time rematch. He should not have retreated and stayed to fight.

6 of his 8 losses prior to the Welliver fight were to nobodys

In a Tua fight, I'm sure he'd have plenty of say in the promoter, as far as I know, he is a free agent. He dropped Kushner. Monte may be with him r may not, heard varying things about that. Tua would be in NZ most likely. Barrett could be done in NZ or China, or even in the USA.

Jon Banks would be done in China or the USA....I guess potentially in Europe as well. Depends. K2 may be involved with that.

I am not very deep into any of this. I don't know who the China promoters are but I do know that they have State backing. And big connects to the WBC and WBO. I would suspect that Banks vs Chauncy will either be an eliminator or a part of the WBC tournament of champions.

Welliver has so many options as far as boxing goes. 2 big organization ratings and all kinds of straps to defend in all kinds of places. It's hard to predict where he will end up. He's not like most of these schmucks who fight in the same place all the time or as traveling opponents. He's on the A side everywhere he's been since the Solis Rip Off in Berlin.

Before Tua or anyone else would have "plenty of say in the promoter," there would have to be a promoter who puts an offer on the table. The promoter often hashes out plans with the fighter's manager beforehand. Frequently the manager and teh promoter of the "A" side work together to finance the fights, operating at a financial loss, and hoping to recoup money (in addition to making a profit) by getting a big money fight later on. The only exception to this arrangement is if the promoter can make a profit immediately on the fight, which he won't do unless he can sell it to TV.

The fighters don't decide they want to fight, then turn around a find a promoter to pay them. It just doesn't work that way.

I just recenlty went from a Dino Dell PC to a new Acer Lap Top. All of my footage is on my other machine and I haven't consolidated that stuff yet for use on this 1.

I filmed Brad Gregory in Detroit myself. Unfortunately I had just bought the video camera that day and then made a huge mistake buying dollar store batteries to back up the factory set for the night. I filmed all these ring card girls before the event and then had to reload batteries 3 times during a less than 3 round fight. Didn't even have enough juice to do interviews with Chauncy and Joe Hipp afterwards. Derrick Jefferson comes in the after party and tells Chauncy he is ready for a Klitschko...I could have had all that footage.

Then on the Brown fight, it is online except for the stoppage round 5. The Polley fight was grapped from highlight videos but the same guys have tape of that somewhere. Amosa is online but that is from Chauncy's 1st month of coming back. 5 wins in 45 days, revenged a draw and captured a Tua interim title....45 days. It's under a strange name that I cannot remember right now, you can't find it looking for Chauncy.

But, I will say something to clear all of this lack of footage stuff up. Everything about Welliver's career is a mirror. There are lots of illusions to look past to know the true Welliver. I'll give you some examples.

On boxrec he is listed as an orthodox fighter. He's a southpaw. On boxrec he is listed as a new Zealander.....Americans like Barrett and Kevin Johnson, tons of people, think he is NZ Native....he is Native American, USA. People think his brother Rick who runs Spokane Boxing is his dad. I used to flip his videos in the movie maker to make him look like an orthodox fighter. The NZ trainers picked that up quick. LOL And his KO% is artificially deflated. The dude has much more power than his record indicates. He simply carried a lot of the lower rung guys along for the ride in his early career.

This stuff was all done to help him land fights. People avoid southpaws who are tricky. People avoid guys who knock every mf'r out they face. Lots of Chauncy's fights have been landed because guys see that he did not knock out some of these others and also because the lower guys, without scouting and teams, show up thinking he is a righty. Some of those would never have been taken if they knew he was a southpaw. Moving to NZ was all about landing that big Tuaman or Cameron fight. Plus he loves it there, who wouldn't?

Most of Chauncy's fights have been arranged by himself. He never had anybody until Roland came in after Solis. The man has serious managerial and promotional talent as well. He was helping manage his brother Dumont at 16 years old. Dewey beat Chad Dawson in the Ams. He's still active but I think Chauncy learned a lot form his career. Dumont lost a close fight to a clubfighter when undefeated and then after that, was fed to mostly wolves, probably for the highest dollar. Chauncy took himself a different route and is much better off for it. Now that he is seasoned and ready for top guys, with chance to own the turf they fight on, he can beat them. Taking road gigs to fight them as an obscure guy is career suicide.

But all the top teams know Chauncy is southpaw. He was brought in by Povetkin to play Chagaev....probably better than Ruslan himself. Everyone in NZ knows he's a southpaw and also American. He's past having to trick guys into coming to fight, but he showed brilliance in doing so. If he was not born into boxing, his career would have been much different. This guy is as slick outside the ring as he is inside. :deal

David Tua does. Him and his cousin Inga tried it. That failed badly. Tua has the power because TV is with him no matter who. The SKY network is the caller and really the promoter in that mess. But Tua has to be willing and say yes to get it on. And even if he does, he might go Monte. But Monte wants truck loads of cash out money. He knows he's on the edge of the abyss.

There's a very real chance that Chauncy will fight Monte soon. I congratulate Chauncy for stepping up. He's winning my respect now.

No, the Monte-Chauncy talks are very, very real. I honestly expect to see this fight happen. If Monte is in shape, this will be a serious fight, and it will give a better indication of what Chauncy has as a fighter. Nice litmus test.

I'm impressed with Chauncy for pursuing this fight.

Are you being serious or joking along with....

I mean before Mensah (whos a bum ) he took on big bad Galen Brown...adding loss number 19 to his record:rofl

And hes taken on Tai three times previous..winning each time...Welliver must like takin on this guy

So Monaco or Tai being his next opponent is not out of the question

Calloway wants a rematch in Missouri. If he beat Australian Mark DeMori in February that could be possible. Damn I would love it if old man Calloway cracked that egg. Unlike against Chauncy, he has some chance to KO Mark IMO.

Damon Reed would be logical as a stay busy midwest fight if trouble occurred getting Monte or Tuaman into the ring.

But, on Monte and Tua.....I've been telling them NZrs that if Tua was smart he'd lend his backing to such a match. Let Chauncy take care of his bad match up...or vice versa if Monte is WWE character worthy and manages a win. Either way, with a set up of winner facing Tua, both guys can make big coing to have it on TV and with a big Tua date next. And then Tua would have a really highly ranked and big time sellable challebger to face. Instant double top 5-10 to both of K2. Maybe Tua could actually help promote the Barrett vs Welliver fight and score a pay check there for watching a fight??? Could happen. Anything is possible in Godzone!

Tauasa took an undefeated and primme Albert Sosnowski to a majority 12 rd decision for the WBF world title. He was good enough to be featured on USA TV in the Contender series. In his previous fight he was beating Ohkello Peter before a questionable stoppage.

Rob Calloway took out highly experienced amateur and pro prospect terry Smith. He took Big Time McCline to war on FNF. he has draw with Chagaev on that record. World Rated CW at times as well.

Mensah is a tough arse African man. Chauncy stole his body in the fight. He was looking for a way to run.

Those are steps up and Monte Barrett is another step up. On the way to K2. Monte is freaking out man...the Dinosaur Hunter is on his trail!
