Ward and Conlan were brilliant tonight top class preformance from both. Saying that the last 2 fights were very close and could of went either way with JJJ being very unlucky in that last round and DOJ as well a bit unlucky. Some great fights with some brilliant talent gutted I couldnt get to the finals and RTEs **** service will have to do.
What a night! Ward was out of this planet - he really is something else! At times I thought he was going to stop Egan, he completely overpowered him. If he put a bit more pressure on at times then the ref could definitely have stopped it. I thought Conlan's fight was much closer than the scores suggested. Phelan put up a good fight. Michael McDonagh was technically brilliant. He fought the perfect fight, even when on the offensive. His hands are so fast! I personally thought JJJ was robbed. Cannot understand how that last round was 5-5. I'm a bit more pissed off because of the fact that I had a very tasty treble on: Ward + McDonagh + JJJ....would have paid out about 10/1 :-( Ross Hickey is brilliant - but definitely fights better on the counter, when his opponent is putting pressure on. Myers put up a great scrap against Barnes, who it must be said was brilliant himself after a few months of inactivity
