    Alrighty....

So Freddy, Axe, and a few others think that this months list is a little too inclusive with the type of fights that really shouldnt be featured on the monthly list.

To be honest if its anyones fault its mine for becoming complacent to the point where I dont screen our lists anymore. I used to go through and take out at least a couple no matter what list it was.... I can understand those who take that position of cutting back on domestic scene, non world title fight types.

But Ill be honest I dont think the lists have been that bad for as long as you say though freddy.... this month I can see where youre coming from but for the most part I think most of the months have been fairly solid. Also you have to view it from the perspective of.... besides this month in which a few people spoke up, before when I would take a fight off there would be a few people saying that that fight should stay on. So its kinda like, no matter what decision is made its going to ruffle someones feathers. Some want more fights (youd be surprised how many fights I dont include on the list normally) and theres some that think there should be less (or more relivent to the world scene). So either way....

That being said, I def lean more towards focusing on the more world scene type fights, for world titles with guys with relatively upper end rankings.

For this month Ill go through the list and after this week and Ill edit it when I have time later on this weekend..... Ill start skimming through the fights like I used to. Will there be some domestic fights on there? yes..... but I will try to keep the bulk of it centered around the world title fights.

So its going to be a compromise  We will see when I go through the list probably on Sunday. And whatever I put up is what it will be.

That being said, I dont want to discourage anyone suggesting fights or putting up fight lists and what not, good fights fall through the cracks every month and Id still like to catch them and this is just part of the process of making a good fight list, and so I appreciate your list SS (and Tackles, Bolieu, and everyone else who helps out usually)

And also its good that some of you spoke up about it as well otherwise nothing would change.

So.... yes I will crack down a bit on what gets accepted and what doesnt but we will still have some domestic level scraps too, but I will widdle it down some. I will take a look at the list on Sunday and edit it as needed.

I'm with Freddy here... a lot of these fights are ones where people haven't even had a chance to see the guy fight before. Some of these fighters don't have videos online or very few, and for many of us it is illegal to watch streams of them fighting so you're basically encouraging us to break the law in a time where the government is cracking down heavily on this type of activity.

Call us "casual fans" all you want, but most of us haven't heard of a hefty percentage of these dudes. I've watched and followed boxing for close to 10+ years now and sometimes looking at this list I'm like who??? It's making this league a boxrec crap-shoot. If you want to pick a million fights a month why don't you bring yourself down to Rummy's Challenge where they pick way more fights than Kirk's Championships? Seriously, why don't you? Why even bother with Kirk's if you're so hardcore? Because you get to pick the fights here? I have seen Kirk himself in the past make fun of how they picked too many fights in Rummy's challenge and basically saying it takes less skill that way...

I'm not saying we need to get rid of a huge number of these fights, but I'd appreciate it if we cut back on the number of fights a bit, because as Freddy stated, some of us do have lives and jobs. And if nothing else please no more 6 rounders.

Just my 2 cents... I don't really care either way as I'm just here to have fun, and it's not my decision. Just putting it out there.

    :good

SS I want to say I admire your tenacity for wanting more fights. I can def see your point of view where the more the better.

However, just IMO, ive been doing this a long time and I really find that a solid, core list of the world scene gives a much better account of peoples abilities. And I find having a well rounded list incorporates all the things needed to show whos legit. Some fights will take research, for sure. In fact I think most people who are succesful in this league do their fair shair.

But having so many lower level fights adds too many * for my taste. * meaning a variety of things. * could mean that posters dont have the time that week to research all the guys so their picks that week dont reflect their ability. * could mean they come across a handful of fights where they really cant find enough tape of the person to make a competent pick, through no fault of their own. So on and so forth.

However, I stress that its simply my taste. I said it above and Ill say again, that I do see where youre coming from and do admire your desire for more fights to pick on.

However Ive always had this been more of a world scene comp.

I will say that while they are our rival league, Rumsfields (or is it boxing girls ) prediction league in the lounge would be perfect for you (if you arent already there.... I know some are not pure loyalist Kirksters :yep and thats ok ... :fire)

But for real, I think they would really suite your taste for fights, as they pick on EVERYTHING  And like Ive said, over the years Ive just come to find that for me, Im not a fan of it when applying it to the competition for reasons stated.

But I just wanted you to know that Rums league would be right down your alley. But Im just letting you know that having more fights isnt necissarilly more hardcore, it just invites greater variables down the stretch (imo) which will lead to variances within the rankings that dont really (genuinanly, imo) reflect accuratly within the rankings for a variety of reasons.

So if you do go to Rums I understand, hope you stick around here though too as you are good poster and you bring a lot to this league and to the general forum as well :good
