From the way the thread flowed (and logic), I was sure he was talking about Andre Dirrell.

 

If it isn't froch, then I sure hope it's dre. Worst case, his brother. If he beats pavlik/bhop, not much credit will be given.

 

They are still big names and step up from his former opponents.

 

So who you think they'll sign?

I think it's fair to say that if Bute were to drop his IBF belt, shoot about 100K to Sulieman, he'd be ranked #1 by the WBC.:rofl

Although I don't think the 312 y/o corpse of Bernard Hopkins is a better fight than Froch or Pavlik.

BHOP(best to fight him now if ever, but beating him would be no better than his win over Johnson)

Tony Dirrel is getting passed over by Ward. He's ready, willing, and ABLE to make a run at Bute. And IMO he's the overall better Dirrel.

It wasn't until Tony got cancer that their careers went in different directions. They were both brought along at a similar pace and were expected to step up in 07. Tony was far more active to that point, albeit against club fighters.
Tony got cancer and Dre stepped up. He fought Kenny Kost who was a good stiff test and then Steven's in his big stage debut. I don't think anyone will ever forget that epic battle. He showed all the heart of champion in that one.
Anyways, cancer separated them in terms of class. Yeah, Bless the Lord, Tony beat cancer and he's still alive, but cancer is not only a life ender it often a career ender. But he came back, slowly at first, but he's right back on track.
I'd like to see him fight a tougher fight than St Juste and Kevin Engel before he takes his first L in a title fight, but if he can beat cancer he can beat a KO loss to Bute or Ward.
Judging from the way Dre deals with adversity..........it's in his best interest to parlay his shot until the slick and powerful champions have left their titles for greener pastures.:yep
