Issac McLeod he's meant to be good, just picked for GB. Bradley Saunders, he's good will be good, I train at the same gym as him twice a week, he's going pro soon. Jeff Saunders will go pro soon. There are a few more. The AASE college programe that's just started (which I'm on) allows amatures to continue boxing after leaving school. It's looking good.

The North east has some top lads who should be in contention for 2016:

Isaac MacLeod Sunderland ABC- won schoolboys three years running and then Junior ABA's last year, a European gold medalist and world silver medalist. Will be favourite for the Junior ABA's again this year. Other than the world champs final I can't remember the last time he lost, must be a few years ago now.

Tom Ward Birtley ABC - Won Junior ABA's last two years running, a European gold medalist the year before he didn't compete last season. Unbeaten in a few years as well. never spoke to a boxer in his weight who wants to fight him, they always let out a sigh when he is mentioned haha.

Henry Thomas Darlington ABC - last year he won the Junior ABA's, NACYP's and Commonwealth Youth Games. Record is something like 55-3. Has boxed for England for the last 3-4 years. Will turn at the end of the season - keep an eye out for him.

Pat McCormack Birtley - won the world championships and Europeans last year, has already won the NACYP's this year, him and his brother Luke are both good prospects.

Jake Slater Sunderland - Really came on last year winning the Junior ABAs and Tri-Nations.

Danny Phillips South Bank - been part of the GB squad for a couple of years now, won the ABAs, Commonwealth Youth Games, Schoolboys etc has a record of something in the range of 88-6. One of GB's top prospects for 2016.

There's plenty other top lads in the area as well who are coming through such as Josh Leather, Peter Martin, Michael Watson, Joe Maphosa, ****** Cassap, Isaac Milburn, Dave Robson. The area is stacked at the minute and should continue to improve.

i imagine Si Vallily and ****** Baister will turn pro at the end of the season joining Brad Saunders, Mo Waqas, Shafiq Asif and jeff Saunders in the pro game also.

A lad who i really like the look of is Lawrence Osueke, he has only been boxing for three seasons but has won the ABA's as well as being runner up in them in his first season. He4 has been in the England squad since and recently moved into the GB team. I think he is currently no1 in GB at LHW and I expect him to go to the Europeans and try and qualify for the Olympics.

I've watched him spar a lot of top pro's up here and he has blasted them all over from the sessions I've attended. Reckon he'll come good in the future, if not at these Olympics then as a pro - guessing he'll turn if he doesn't make the team.

yeah Begg had a below par season last year but has come back on it this year winning the CYPs - he fought Slater at the Plains Farm show last year and it was a brilliant fight. Definitely has the talent to win medals

Dunno mate, havent spoke to him since last season. Don't think he competed until the ABA's started last year so might just be waiting for them to come around again.

Ive knew Lawrence for years, haven't seen half as much as his boxing as I would've liked but he's got an excellent head on his shoulders. You wont meet a nicer lad. Spoke to him around Christmas time and he's hoping to go to the Olympics if he gets selected for the qualifiers.

Dunno about Ogogo, he's no where near the class of the likes of Degale or Sutherland when they were amateurs.

Anyone here ever hear of Declan Fusco, seen him spar once & he looked top class

Yeah he is a really sound lad, seems really focused and determined. I've seen him box about 8-10 times and seen him spar a few times and I really think he has the talent to do really well for himself.

I can't see why he won't get the chance at the Europeans. Unless he has lost to one of his contenders since the last time I heard anything (which I'm pretty sure he hasn't) then he is no1 in the country by a fair shake.

I really hope he does well as he's someone I can see doing really well with some backing behind him.

I've seen declan fight a couple of times, he is another who has a lot of talent but i've been told he gets distracted easy. He got to the quarters of last years ABA's so we will see if he has improved any this year.
