    Exactly what I'm thinking :rofl

Was so impressed with Ward and same with Egan being gracious in defeat, as you said.

He won the 3rd round 12-2...pretty impressive for a fella who was gassed. To be honest, I just think his style makes him look tired quite a lot of the time. At times in the first round I thought he loked tired!

Mark O hara possibly? Lost by a point to McDonagh on the first weekend. Or maybe Phil Sutcliffe?

Hickey deserved the win over Sutcliffe I thought. Didn't see the O'Hara fight, could he have won?

I didn't see either fight to be honest. I just remember someone mentioning on the thread last week that Phil Snr said his son was robbed. I'm happy Hickey won tho, he deserves a crack at the international scene having missed out last year.
The reason I say O'Hara is because he was the closest to beating McDonagh. Then again, the same could be said for Sean McComb. In your case I suppose Sheehan is relevant because you thought he actually won the fight versus JJJ

Unreal night in the stadium ward bossed it there's no doubt who the better boxer is now( wasn't sure last year thought the ref played a big part) he fully deserved boxer of the night although i thought nevin was a close second with such a dominating win . the two fights of the night for me where Barnes v Myers and jjj v Nolan . Also McCarthy s KO was impressive caught him perfect

I actually like McDonagh boxing, you can almost hear him think!
Yeah, Michael Nevin looked in awe of JJ, he is a fair enough performer, inter champ and looked pretty good against Danny Coughlan in the first round.
BTW I DID see McDonagh and O'Hara-thought Michael deserved it but it was close.
Watched JJJ and Nolan on the RTE player and I still cant separate them, but wasn't John Joe classy afterwards in the interview? great.

McDonagh is an enigma, he wins rounds and collects points but I don't know exactly how :nut You couldn't say that he has a superb jab, great hooks, uppercuts etc but he sort of fiddles his way through and nullifies his opponent's attacks. Fair play to him anyway, two-time champ.

Hickey looked the biz when Coughlan started leading off and he was picking the shots. Quality stuff.
