Poor stoppage IMO. I can see the ref's view but he definitely overreacted there.

Great shot from Quigg though.

BBBofC please give him his P45 ****ing awful referee. I am furious that was awful, I didn't get a chance to watch the Sai-Cox fight but that also sounded like an awful refereeing performance.

This is what i really dislike about british judges .

If it was Quigg that did that .. the ref would never ever jump in so quickly .... just another example of good up and coming fighters being slightly protected by referees in this country.

 

Turning your back on your opponent after taking one = stoppage

 

Stopped defending himself. Should have taken a knee.

 

Anyway - Quigg did very well to come back from adversity.
I suspect he is vulnerable though. A great counter puncher could be all wrong for him.
Kiko Martinez would be a great fight though.

 

I agree. Defend yourself at all times and Arthur stopped defending himself.

 

Dunno what Arthur was doing but still a shitty stoppage in a title fight.

Concerns for Quigg but showed good resolve to battle through.

 

He didn't give Arthur any chance to take a knee, hold, cover up. Yes it was a great shot and he was hurt but it's a fight, terrible stoppage.

Boxing needs more hot violinists for ring walk music and national anthems.

I love how the Germans present boxing. Whether it's Sauerland, Universum, K2, Sturm's fights etc it always feels like I'm watching an event.
