Ehhh, I'll give Licina that round. 117-111. It was close enough.

Ouma was far more competitive against GGG than Licina was here tonight, IMO - but it's a good parallel.

You have a guy not known as a puncher (Ouma, Licina) really bringing it to the guy who is and trying to actually hurt him.

 @ the sympathy scoring for Licina in the 12th.

Got blocked & ate uppercuts, guys. :deal

Can't blame you, though. His bravery was meritorious, even if his performance wasn't so hot.

    Finnish judge Erki Meronnen: 118-110
    Terry O'Connor 116-112
    Jean Francois Toupin 118-112

...all for the winner and NEW EBU CW champ, Alexander Alexeev of Hamburg.

Well the first half of the fight i was quite nervous but i thought it was a impressive performance and found it exciting. Seeing him win in this manner was great.

You're right. That wasn't mean-spirited laughter, more like "aww".

The same laughter as when lurking on Lolcats.

True. the main thing i was getting at is both are among the best inside fighters in their division and super tough and Gena and Sasha, known for their boxing, fought them at their own game and got the better of them. I think both guys fought that way on purpose to prove it to themselves.
