    Round 12

Donaire dances to his right, sweeping out long left hooks. Vazquez is marching forward behind his sturdy left jab. Donaire keeps dancing around on a cushion of air, up on his toes. Vazquez throws an overhand right, falling short. Donaire is circling a bit awkwardly now, two left feet, his once superb balance a bit screwed up as he gets fancy with his evasive tactics on the outside. Vazquez is coming forward relentlessly jabbing and tossing hard right hands. Donaire backs up to the ropes and unrolls his jab. Vazquez lands a jab and a right hand down the middle. Body shot by Donaire. Overhand right by Vazquez. Right by Donaire. Good exchange. Straight right by Vazquez! Slapping left hook by Donaire! Hook by Vazquez! Right by Donaire!! Vazquez pushes Donaire to the ropes and opens up!! Donaire fights back!!! Hard shots landed by both!

    114-113 Donaire

A draw in rounds, but the knockdown gives Nonito the win.

Lederman had 117-109 for Donaire. He gave him two 10-8 rounds.

Merchant had 8 rounds to 3 and 1 even to ND.

Think Vasquez might have had a chance had he not started so negatively.

He waited almost five rounds before he really started trying to win.

Donaire didn't have the night he wanted to have, for sure, to Wilfredo's credit.

There are fighters at this weight who would be very live dogs against this Nonito.
