Condit's performance was everything that's wrong with MMA.

Popkins, this is weak.. Your not a fan of the art, but one who prefers violence over the art.

In all fairness, Condit should change his nickname from 'The Natural Born Killer' to 'The Natural Born Greg Jackson Student And Legkicking Points Winner'.

You can't question his effectiveness, but you can question where this sport is going where strikers who call themselves killers jog round the cage trying to run the clock down and win on points, and the 'fans' all applaud.

I have no respect for fighters who come out with the sole intention of winning fights on points, even if they are great fighters. If Condit is a striker, he should try to win by KO or die trying. Points gameplans = a dead sport.

I hope you guys get all the Jackson UD's you deserve in the future. Thank Christ there are still real fighters like Junior dos Santos out there.

No ***, I just understand combat sports a bit better than you. They should be about using your skills for a finish, whatever that skill may be, they should never be about running the clock down, not engaging, and winning on points. Points should always be incidental.

What an arrogant and unthoughtful view point. Mixed martial artist's main goal should be not putting themselves in unnecessary danger. They have families to worry about their well being is far more important than putting on a spectacle.

This was the biggest fight in Condit's life and if he tried to go out and bang he would've gotten knocked out and maybe even seriously hurt. He did what he had to do, stop going around making rules about how fighters should do this and that.

    You're not a fighter.

Another complete fail. Try again. :patsch

My stance is that gameplans like that chosen tonight by Condit and Jackson will kill MMA, I don't think there's any honour in trying to win on points. It has nothing to do with the scoring system. Way to twice misunderstand a very simple and clearly expressed point of view.

He engaged Diaz plenty of times and won most of those exchanges.. But, you wanna cry about not finishing his opponent?

Get the **** outta her, son.. If we had it your way there would be no time limits and tune ups in The UFC.

So Condit should just disregard his speed advantage, refuse to set up angles, and simply trade punches to the face with Nick Diaz.

Condit was using his skills to win. Condit was trying to land flying knees, head kicks, and elbows directly to the jaw. Believe it or not, Diaz is hard to finish.

No time limits? I don't even know what that means, but I do know that you're a cretin so I assume it's complete bull**** whatever it is.

Gameplans fully focused on winning on points will kill this sport. Believe it.

You want a fighter to win base on this

" A striker should always come out with the intention of winning by KO, doing everything they can to build towards a KO. A BJJ specialist should come out with the intention of building towards a sub, a wrestler should come out with the intention of getting the TD and then working to a finish via GnP or sub.

Then, if they are unsuccessful in finishing the fight, the points verdict is incidental. They may win the fight on points, but it's not because they tried to win on points, it's because they tried to win the fight by utilizing their main strength, and when the time ran out they'd got closer to doing that than the other guy. "

meaning you don't agree with the current scoring system. WHen you are taking about scoring and how points should be awarded means you disagree with the current system. I read your post correctly. :deal
