Depends in what kind of boxing shape is Pavlik...Stevenson would pit Interbox fans against GYM fans in Montreal and would sell tickets without any difficulties.

As for Pavlik, since his withdrawal from his fight with Bute, I'm not sure that it would be a good seller to Montreal boxing fans...:think

Anyhow, Pavlik as Stevenson would bring deception to me as Bute next opponent.

First, George gets beat by Rodriguez. Second, Farias is out of the IBF picture after his loss to Abraham who might take his place in the IBF top15.

If Froch and Dirrell won't be next I could live with Pavlik but Stevenson, Green or any of these type like Don George, Gonzalez, Edwin Rodriguez will really upset me.

Bute will gain some exposure in the States if he fights Pavlik. The chances for big fights there it will increase. Some casual fans know who Kelly "The Ghost" Pavlik, and you don't know at what lvl he came back, so it could be entertaining to. Anyway Pavlik even past it is still better than the other guys who don't stand a chance.
Bute doesn't has the luxury anymore of going under Pavlik / Anthony Dirrell standard. That should be the type of opponents he should pick in a worst case scenario.

Rodriguez is overrated, I have never seen George fighting.
The IBF Mandatory is between Stevenson and Jesus Gonzales.

If everyone starts thinking this way - by numbers - we, the fans, will never have great fights to watch anymore. There will always be financial issues, but in the end boxing is a sport, not a bussiness.

Good post, but as for Bute getting a fight with Ward, he'll likely be forced to vacate his title and chase Ward to the ends of the earth.

My guess is at LHW, only after one or the other loses. :think
