WBC would never allow the elephant man to be their Middleweight champion anyway.

Sulaiman says JCC Jr HAS to face Martinez.
    Sulaiman changes mind.
Chavez Jr faces more bums, makes like he's calling out Martinez but more likely will face Margarito, a one-eyed guy who's not won a meaningful fight in years and who's ineffective above 147...

Problem people have is when certain fighters manipulate weight and use non-standard stipulations to exploit their opponent and gain an unfair advantage. Recent examples have included:

    Pacquiao vs Cotto
    Pacquiao vs Margarito
    Mayweather Jr vs JMM
JCC Jr vs anyone at middleweight when he comes into the ring at CRUISER.

When a fighter says he struggles to make the weight yet won't move up a division it tells me that that fighter is content with trying to pick on smaller opponents. There are super middleweights and light heavyweights who won't weigh as much in the ring as JCC Jr did last night. Adding almost 22lbs overnight is suspect, to say the least. That's 1/8th of his body weight!!!

I don't know. There's a flip side. Had Rubio been a little better, Chavez would have been in trouble in the second half of the fight.

Both men weight 160 and they can eat whatever they want after so he deserves credit for making the weight and giving a good performance

As long as they make weight is what matters to me. Making weight is one of the hardest things to do in boxing. There is always ups and downs from gaining to much weight. It's simply part of boxing. I think fighters being force to weight drain themselves and these catchweights are more of an issue if anything.

So Martinez can't fight Zbik if HBO doesn't approve? Why don't we just let HBO do the rankings. One more ABC wouldn't hurt. :rofl

its funny b/c even fighters who weigh the same may have size advantages in that the hold the weight differently...you can still be the bigger guy..more reason to end this nonsense...

well if they weighed in at, say their FIGHTNIGHT WEIGHT then their would not be a need for starvation days before the fight, IV's and dangerous dehydration to begin with..

Do you idiots really think it's that easy to lose 20lbs while trying to train for a fight? You don't think he puts himself at risk for doing so? I don't understand how that could be seen as cheating. If he can do it, then more power to him, he's not breaking any rules. If it were that easy don't you think more guys his size would be making the same weight? Or is this just to continue hating on him irrationaly?
