    This is the most unfuuny comedy ever and Brendan O Carroll is the least funny Irish comic ever..

    Whats the appeal?

    it's not father ted level but a good blend of witty lines, quirky script writing and slapstick gags to keep the masses entertained.


    best comedy about right now, which never means a lot, but Britain has produced far worse in the past decade so i'm not going to criticise, it's a welcome addition to our comedy schedule over here.

    cant really level all this at the Brits, its one of RTEs highest rated shows too and is always near the top in DVD sales come Christmas time.

    Yeah that is pretty awful. There are dire British comedies just like some American ones.

    If you think that's 'awful' try watching miranda, or that one with dougal from father ted poncing about as a superhero, then there's the one with Hugh dennis who seems to suck comedy out of the room -- seriously the BBC has commissioned some right shite lately

    i saw this for the first time over christmas, my missus told me to put it on and it was the first time i had watched or heard of it, i have lived in ireland the majority of my life and thought it was ****ing shite, brits have a slightly different sense of humour to us in regards to watching comedy

    Oh I know, but mentioning the Brits in the thread title gets more conversation going as there is more of them.

    Apparently its popular here too, but I dont know anyone who watches it or likes it. A ****ing anomaly if there ever was one...
