That is the truth of the matter. Wlad has a good jab (not ATG by any stretch or he would have been able to regularly connect on Gaye with it), a hard straight right, and good footwork. His head movement sucks, he can't fight inside, he refuses to throw hooks, and he cannot take a punch. His power is also overrated as he hit a blown-up Cruiserweight in Haye, a CW who I might add has a Glass Jaw, with a flush right to the Chin and it didn't even drop him.

Vitali, on the other hand, is better in my opinion, because he can fight at mid-range and inside, he can hook and uppercut, and he can move his head pretty well for a big guy. He doesn't have as good of a jab as his brother and I think he lacks the power, as well, but his more all-around skillset and his ability to take a punch make him the better of the two.

Either way, they are not extremely skilled and technical fighters. They are gigantic dudes who have developed good enough skillsets to the point that when you meld the skills and the size you get guys who are head and shoulders above the jokes fighting today. It does not change the fact that they are far from unbeatable, have beaten nobody of note in the grand scheme of things, and have looked vulnerable at times to subpar fighters. Even if you do not agree with me that they do not dominate the majority of H2H match-ups with true ATGs there is no refuting the fact that they have no great fighters listed as wins on their respective resumes. It is no fault of their own but it is the biggest reason why they should never crack the Top 15 of any legitimate ATG rankings.

Klitschko fans are doomed to forever try to convince the rest of the world that these two limited, one-dimensional, giants with no good wins on their extremely padded records are somehow "great", it's really pretty sad

No, funny pictures will hardly do as a refutation of facts, and the fact is that - US media propaganda notwithstanding - the fighters in the heavyweight division today are much bigger and stronger than ever before, and most importantly it is much more international in scope today than it ever was before. Russians and eastern Europeans were not even allowed to compete until the 1990's. Now they are, and the results are all too obvious. Media hyped US heavyweights of the past never fought them, nor did they even fight any black Africans or Cuban expats. In addition there has never before been heavyweight champs so dominant that they not only win every fight against all comers, many previously undefeated, but they win every round in doing so, and they usually don't even get their hair mssed in the process. Absolutely unprecedented, and funny pictures do nothing to mtigate those FACTS!!!

  12. People have to accept the fact that they are not top 10 or top 15. I honestly do like both guys and I joke about them. They are good fighters and talented athletes but historically speaking they dont stack up. Sam Peter is ****. Beating him after a 4 year layoff shouldn't be viewed as a major accomplishment because he sucks. Wlad has been KO'd 2 times too many by bad fighters. Vitali quit against Byrd! Byrd! Yes Wlad is the best HW in the world in 2012 but that means nothing historically speaking. Wlad is the linear champ and Vitali was at one point. When they are gone from boxing, they will be rememberd as big guys who dominated a weakly reguared didivison at the same time. That's more than most fighters will get.

you'd have a compelling point if the fighters these never before seen heavyweight champs faced wouldn't be considered poor in most eras and/or these unprecedented heavyweight champs were knocking those poor fighters out in a few rounds or less, every time out.

    Excellent post!

The Klitschko Brothers are the greatest heavyweights of all time.

Either Klitschko beats any HW from any era.
