reverse his age so he starts his career all over again

    build a time machine

fight in the 80's and 90's

beat Roberto Duran, Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler, Thomas Hearns, Julio Cesar Chavez, Oscar De La Hoya, Felix Trinidad amongst other high level boxers in that era

He can have a couple losses on his record but if he avenges them and beats all the boxers above I would consider him the GOAT

To threadstarter, Floyd or any current or future great boxer would have to invent a time-machine and go back in time and fight in an earlier era, to have a chance to become GOAT, boxers nowadays cant become GOAT its an unwritten rule on these forums.

When he is retired I really think people will rate him higher than they do now. Not GOAT but a higher ATG. Same for Manny.

So if he beat Pacquiao Martinez Ward and Cotto you would still say he has no argument for GOAT?

Thats not what im saying, I'm saying even if he did all you stated PLUS beat both Klitschko's and defended the heavyweight title 10 times after that, people on esb wouldn't accept him as GOAT because, he isnt from the period between 1940-1985. Thats just how it is on here.

Nobody in this Era will ever be considered the GOAT but a victory over Cotto @ 154 and pac @ 147 would put him in or close to top 20. and lol @ yall mentioning he needs to fight martinez for his legacy :patsch its insane how overrated he is. 20 years from now no one will know who the **** he is. i say after the Cotto and Pacquiao fights he should have one more fight against a young top guy like Canelo or Khan. that will definately boost him in the top 20 if he went out like that.

Why does he need to beat Ward? I would never happen either way, because yeah money > legacy.

    But then strictly hypothetical..

    Beat Cotto
    Beat Pacquiao
    Beat Martinez
    Beat Pacquaio
    Beat Alvarez

    Would that be enough?

He wasted way too many prime years to even be in the running for GOAT.
He has top 20 ATG potential but i think he wasted that opportunity as well.

KO or school Cotto. Beat Pacqioua by a wide margin before the 2013, then rematch him and beat him again. Or should he lose, beat him in a rematch and a rubber match.

He also needs Khan or Brook, and possibly 2-3 more besides them. Maybe Berto, Bradley, and a raging bull like Cote.:deal

If he beats Cotto then he needs to beat Pac or Martinez and I'd consider him my GOAT.

    2012 @ 147 - Cotto (TKO)
    2012 @ 147 - Pacquiao (Convincing points victory)
    2013 @ 154 - Alvarez (TKO)
    2013 @ 160 - Martinez (Win)

    NO catch weights

If he does that within the next 18 months he is probably a top 15 ATG

I think he needs Pacquiao or Martinez after Cotto.

I don't think guys like Berto will do anything for his legacy and I think he should avoid Bradley because Bradley is the sort of fighter who could beat him and also not do a lot for his legacy.

Cotto is better for a legacy fight followed by Martinez. If he's still undefeated and has beaten both of them then he has a legit claim to being the GOAT and if he beats Pac then it becomes difficult of not impossible to dispute it anymore.
