why is Paulie so worried? his career is in the toilet and he's washed up. What's he got to lose. best case scenario he outboxes someone who's never fought good competition in his whole life, grabs a belt and parlays that into a nice lil payday for himself.

***** Paulie is being a drama queen.

beggars cant be choosers there buddy

Senchenko is mediocre anyways. If he wins it wont mean much besides a paper title. Why doesnt Malignaggi just wait on the Maidan/Alexander winner or loser. Or even try to vie for Ortiz's title?

Why would anyone in their right mind want to fight a hometown fighter in the Ukraine? Sounds like an intelligent choice.

Beggar?, compared to his opponent, Malignaggi is a name fighter. His opponent needs him more.

Paulie's on no man's land. No bargaining position at all. His biggest money fight available might be a NY fight vs. Judah. But other then that, if he declines, he might be waiting for the phone to ring, if that even happens.

Because Ukraine isn't the place for a big fight. Paulie rapes this plastic champ in his hometown. Surely doesn't stop him but he would dominate and get robbed in his opponents hometown. Do you think Ukraine judges would let there one of their only great fighters loose a UD? Nope.

Did you watch Balzsay-Kashtanov? You should - it was a very good fight.

It was in Ukraine and for the WBA "world" super middleweight title.

I thought the home Ukrainian boxer Stas Kashtanov clearly deserved to win, but the judges were too kind to the visiting Karoly Balzsay and awarded him a SD.

There are a LOT of talented Ukrainian fighters: Wladimir, Vitali, Glazkov, Bursak, Sillakh, Fedchenko, Kucher, etc.

And more to come after the 2012 Olympics: Lomachenko, Usyk, etc.

i thought Paulie was in this to pay his bills...he'll make a six figures, well over 100 K after his purse split is sliced up

he made a half million against Khan and his purse has dwindled along with his career

why would he care if he got robbed? cant name one Urkainian robbery off the top of my ahead... he should take his chances

Well, WBA title fight so they would at least appear to appoint neutral officials. They could talk to the WBA about it. Is Paul a free agent or is he with a promotion company? Doesn't sound like they could sell the fight here so they didn't really try and win the bid would be my guess. So, if Paulie doesn't want the shot, give it to someone who does. Just move on.

Golden Boy bid a whooping $250,000

A 1/4 of the winning bid.

Also, they no longer have an output deal with HBO ...

I'm pretty sure Cotto would break every bone in Senchenko's face within the first 5 rounds, while Malinaggi gave Cotto a tough fight
