Well, 1918 - '19 was probably Dempsey's real prime. There's no way of knowing who was "easier to hit". They fought a different bunch of opponents which makes it impossible to measure, and most of prime Dempsey isn't even on film, so we cannot know. Both were hittable though.
'Shazza' is so blatantly a troll and the Classic forum is either getting rilled up or agreeing with him, and yes it's obviously a him.
i left out 1918 becuase lots of Jack Dempsey fans say he was not prime becuase he lost to Fat Willie Meehan who did used to be a flyweight from all film footage i have found on Youtube of 1918-1919 Jack Dempsey he gets hit clean by punches far more than 1986-1988 Mike Tyson does and Jack Dempsey's opponents usaully look lots worse on film in them prime periods of there careers imo Dempsey was more wild, more hittable, he threw cautions to the wind
I've seen pretty much all the fights avaliable to see of Dempsey and i've not seen him do majority of these things beside throw combo's. Maybe he did them a few times but i wouldn't put that in his repertroire just like you wouldn't put jabbing in Marciano's even tho he did throw jabs.
May i just say you've got the funniest avatar i've seen on ESB Let's get real Sugar Kimbo Slice is the best heavyweight ever, forgot Dempsey and Ali...his record speaks for itself :deal
You can miss a lot if you don't study those old films really closely. Almost all these all-time top professionals display plenty of tricks and skills.
