Would you have prefered to see Andrade (who would have been the highest ranked/available boxer if the IBF didn't magically put Froch above him) being the new mando, after 1 win in another association?
I see exactly where you are coming from. Froch seems an old 34 and as you note is coming off a loss. Froch hasnt beaten any top SMWs. It never ceases to amaze me when people note A Abraham as a win for Ward when he had been beaten twice not long before and clearly and had also never beaten any top SMWs. Still like Abraham for Ward, Froch has a name for Bute and seems better than some of the other names I had heard of being mentioned. Really the only fight for Bute and Ward is against each other and from what I have read, Ward doesnt seem too interested
Nice move by the IBF, but I cannot only see it as having little impact on wheter Bute-Froch gets made. Froch has plenty of options and does not need Bute whereas Bute desperately needs a credible opponent. So if the negotiations does not end with conditions to Froch's liking I am sure he abandons his mandostatus ASAP. Frochs conditions will (and should) include the fight to be staged in May in Nottingham. Bute wont like that.
Remember when we all said "Froch will be 'damaged goods' if he ever become a Bute's opponent, in the eyes of the haters" ? Well, that's what's happenning! :rofl
Interesting post but really what options does Froch have? Isnt Steiglitz still fighting Kessler? Its a good move for both, but I wonder with all of the being on the road that Froch may have worn himself out. Consider that 5 of his last 6 fights have been away and if Bute is in Canada that will be 6 fights out of Frochs last 7 that he will have to have travelled. That must be wearing on him
Both Bute and Forch and their perspective teams know where this fight SHOULD be fought......WHERE THE MOST $$$$$$$ IS!:deal
