If Arum was paying off fighters to "take it easy" on Pac, then Pac would have looked spectacular in his last 2 fights.
Not fighters, perhaps Clottey....That was when everyone was asking why he hadn't fought a black fighter since his earlier days.
Clottey didn't take it easy on Pac! :nono The Storm came through and Joshua didn't know what to do! Like Lamps said... "Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, BANG"! :yep
I like Bradley, have always liked him, he's from the Desert Empire, and I went to High School there, but having recently sold out, and knowing how much of a **** stain Arum is, and having the power to orrchestrate Bradley's career, it seems plausible.
Clottey's infamous for his low workrate. Against a guy like Pac with a very high workrate, stamina, and good power, the natural conclusion was that Clottey would shell up. There were never extended periods of time where both fighters did nothing but circle the ring and paw. Pac was laying into him for 12 straight rounds. Clottey would have taken a beating if he had opened up more.
I dont put it past Arum to try to do something like that but I dont think Bradley would do it, he's a good guy. Plus I think he really believes he stands a good chance of beating Pacquiao he cant do that if he has to take a fall. If Pac wins its cos he is the better man imo, which I think he is anyway.
I think terrible is a stretch. Aside from being too stubborn to worjk w/GBP and Floyd, he hasn't done that much terrible ****. Hell, he's done great deals with the networks too you know. His move to SHO that put actual commercial on regular TV, CBS. His fights on FX, ESPN, and now Spike coming up. Dude, hate him all you want, but give him props for keeping boxing on basic cable as well. GBP and their monoploy on HBO dates, or acquiring the Ring mag are just as bad. DLH trying to scoop up ALL the talent just with the promise of TV dates is ****ed up as well. Boxing needs competition to stay healthy, not one guy trying to control it all. What about all the belts and corruption from the ABC's? The WBC alone has what, 4 champs? atsch And all the politics the big names, play for favors withthem and the netoworks, Arum, HAYMON, and Golden boy are all guilty of that. And toss in terrible judging and reffing that has been worse and worse the past few years. That **** turns off a lot of people. Arum deserves his fair share of the blame. That I certainly will not deny. But to suggest HE is ruining boxing with all that other **** going on, is nuts. And BTW, don't get me started on the over abundance of PPV's that should just be on regular HBO. HBO's inflated purses on guys that have done nothing to help, but instead create a false sense of entitlement. But hey, at least some Floyd fanatics will pop in to tell me I'm wrng and just defending Arum. You can agree with them when it happens if you'd like. :!:
Oh yeah, I give Pacquiao enough credit to know that he ison a level higher than Bradley...And I like Tim, but his recent selling out, even after winning the Pacquiao sweepstake makes me question his integrity.
do you like the sound of the word "arum"? do you really think the man actually has the power or nerve to so suggest bradley not try and win? wtf is wrong with you people? atsch
TB went with one of the 2 major promoters in boxing. He's just playing the game that's been made. You're questioning the integrity of a guy who wants to face one of the top two boxing in the world? :huh
Whoever wins, Arum wins too. Bradley is in his stable too. If anything that would do him great in the long run, a new big name in boxing to develop.
Clottey went into the fight saying he'd throw 4 punches to Pac's 30. Unless Bradley comes out with some stupid gameplan that's for sure impossible to win the fight with I think we're good on the 'fixing' fights angle... :thumbsup
