2 "young hungry lions". Floyd got bashed by a few for fighting the young Ortiz but somehow bradley is legit for pac. IMO they are both good "step ups" cuz they chose to fight young fighters in their prime. discuss please.

depends on how you dissect it.
Ortiz had that quit job against Maidana, beat up a bunch of old and past it names that GB fed him, and then drew with Peterson but moving up to Welterweight and that fight with Berto made him look like he redeemed himself so Floyd took advantage of the hype and momentum Ortiz built up, also had a sellable back story for 24/7

Bradley is undefeated and a fresh face that Arum scooped up. If he beats Pacquiao, he's the new IT guy. If he loses then he still gets his name out there from the build up.

They both are/were very decent opponent choices.

Seriously, if Bradley, Ortiz, and Cotto suck so bad (which according to different parts of the board, they all do), then the entire sport of boxing must be ****. That's what people don't realize when they bash accomplished boxers with a whole pyramid of athletes below them.

Ortiz was a great choice and Bradley is a great choice. Cotto is a terrible choice just like Margo and Mosley were terrible choices for Manny.

who cares. the fact that they wont fight each other results in comparing their level of opponents or their "ppv numbers"...which has gotten old the last 3 years

Most people here have one or two fights in mind and if that doesn't happen, the higher ranked fighter gets bashed for it. Both are/were great fights.

-Ortiz was 24 years old, compared to Bradley's 28.

-Ortiz was a lot bigger and established at 147 by beating the best at the weight other than May and Pac in Berto compared to Bradley beating Abregu 18 months ago.

-Ortiz was a power puncher, while the consensus on these forums is that Bradley is a very light puncher whose best punch is his headbutt.

-Bradley is much higher thought of in terms of accomplishment. Many have him P4P top 10, Ring has him #8 P4P. His recent outings having been questionable, leading to most people dropping him below Khan in the 140 rankings until Khan lost in December.

Ortiz was beat down and quit against Maidana, then drew with Peterson. Bradley is an undefeated reigning champion for thee past few years. His resume shits on Ortiz, if you want to compare them.. Ortiz was a guy who never lived up to his hype that golden boy tried to push. Bradley while a dirty headbutting **** is much more accomplished and proven to be a much better fighter..
