Does Al Haymon and GBP takes a cut on Floyd Mayweather's fight earnings?

What I'm curious about is which one of them (Haymon or Schaefer) negotiates on his behalf and makes the contracts. Which one of them is his lead negotiator?

I'm really intrigued by Al Haymon. He's clearly one of the most powerful figures in boxing yet so little is known about him. He somehow manages to avoid the media completely. He even avoids getting his picture taken, I've only seen like 3 pictures of him.

 

No way does Haymon take nearly a third of PBF's earnings.

 

Ofcourse they get paid. I understand it is a flat fee rather than a percentage.

Al is paid a Managers fee-probably around 3 percent.

 

Rumoured to be 10%.

 

No way Haymon is getting a shitty ass 3%. He is probably getting a flat fee in the millions or 15% off of the back end money. We don't know though.

ya...that is very likely....since al got his start in the concert promoting biz....al has worked it so floyd gets cuts of the concessions and all that stuff...so im willing to bet al is getting a cut on merchandise and concessions

 

i d say theyre on a percentage with a cap perhaps.

id say al haymon is on something like a 5 percent off of profits with maybe a million dollar cap- or perhaps its a percentage of his guarantee or a flat negotiation fee. like few hundred thousand or so. i dont see him getting much off the back end because he is just a negotiator and dosent invest in anything , nor does he contribute anything to the fight itself such as contacts or hbo or endorsements, so i d say he s on a package not unlike a finders fee or a lawyers fee when dealing with contracts. he dosent deserve anything more than that tbh and i think money is pretty shrewd in dealing with his staffs pay. he d be worth somewhere between 250 000 to a 750 000 or so , per fight.

GBP however, contributes alot. sites, sponsors, hbo, 24/7, they pay for alot of the fight , and negotiate on his behalf, and are involved from beginning to end. they also invest alot of their money in the event itself. so they get a substantial cut- not what arum collects, but still a fair amount. i d say their fee is a fee based on ppv profits, and what they recoup from other revenues. its more complicated than a straight 20 percent. i d say they probably get say 50 percent off of all vendors, merchandise, advertising from hbo, and television advertising revenue, tecate etc, if not more. and then perhaps a ppv percentage , like say 20 percent off of his ppv profits. so mayweather would probably take 50 percent of his ppv cut as a fighter- plus his promoter fee, as he co-promotes-

it used to go something like
promotor 33 percent
manager 20 percent
trainer 10 percent
fighter 37 percent

however floyd co promotes- so he probably gets around 40 percent or so , lets say , of the promoter fee, and he also hires his manager in house, exclusively almost, rather than thru a company like nba players, so he can pay haymon what he wants ( plus ellerbe is his other manager), his trainer is his uncle, so he pays him what he wants also. so it works out probably closer to,

promotors (GBP): 20 percent
haymon + ellerbe + staff : 20 percent
roger: 10 percent
floyd and mayweather promotions: 50 percent

OR maybe, because haymon and ellerbe are full time staff- they get a percentage of his entire company revenue, so maybe floyd just keeps all 80 percent that goes to his side into a big money pool, and the guys get a cut out of it like a comapny such as facebook or google with their staff.

all speculation of course, and this is likely all way off- but this is how i think hed structure his payroll based on what we ve seen around him,

all probably bull****- but i do know from reading articles, that floyd has a really good financial team around him - and he has taken a pre-emptive approach in investing up front in his fights and so recoups alot from his promotion company and his staff, as well as all side revenue, such as food , drinks, merchandise. he actually is very shrewd with his money , but then again, he puts alot in up front, takes on the risk and is why he has trouble with his tax, because he has so much financial burden on himself and his company, for paying up front, and all the taxation that comes with running a company. plus he burns the **** - so **** - he is a tool with it too.

pac however seems to be content to just take his cut and go home, and dosent really seem to take charge entreprenurally in his finances.

Haymon still makes money elsewhere on the fight...I think he gets a small guarantee of the fighters purse...I read somewhere that it was approx. 3-5% plus additional money off of other items (unrelated to fighters purse).
