In order to clean up the sport. Make the titles meaningful and to make sure the best fights happen, do you think the sport of boxing needs one unified banner which the WBO, IBF, WBA and WBC, Golden Boy, Top Rank, and even HBO and Showtime operate under?

    Yes they do!

They need ONE IMO..if they are gonna keep the same setup then they should do 2..but I wouldn't mind seeing this in boxing...would be a lot better and much more interesting IMO.

Yes, boxing could really benefit from a unified governing body. Due to the decentralization of power in the sport today, I can not see a single person/company taking charge the way Dana White/UFC did with MMA, but a board of directors similar to the NCAA might work. It wouldn't be perfect, but at least it would have a clear plan and a common goal.

I think it would help if there was one champion per division, and to have constant rules. The unified rules that are used in championship bouts are a step in that direction.

It needs one worldwide governing body

Yes, and I nominate myself for president of such organization! Now, could you call WBO, IBF, WBA and WBC, Golden Boy, Top Rank, HBO and Showtime and let them know that they report to me now?

At the moment there is rarely a clear champion. I guess ring magazine belt is the belt to prove you are the best. All others are paper titles, but these days we dont really get the fights where the ring magazine belt is on the line.

Of course... but I doubt it will ever happen.

There are so many problems with the sport today, that something drasticly has to change to make boxing healthy again.

    Absolutely.

One sanctionning body, 10 weight classes. That's what boxing needs.
