A bit late to start at 27 - but best of luck to him. HW is a weak division and if he takes well to training there's no reason he can't become a belt holder in 2-3 years time when Vitali is retired and Wladimir is pushing 40. But he has to put in hard work and start at the bottom - probably hard to do when you come from star status in another sport.
I can't see him willing to stuff around fighting cans. I think he thinks he can foot it with anyone. I wouldn't be surprised if his first opponent was top 50 and he fights progressively higher opponents after that. Maybe even see him fight for a title in four or five fights time.
There's probably a reason he's called Ali B and not by his full last name. :bart But I doubt he's going to even make it to a (legit not WBF, WBB, IBA or something) titleshot, because of his feeble chin combined with a style that doesn't fit that problem. It will be spectacular while it lasts though. :bbb
While his chin isn't the best. It's not a disgrace. A feeble chin never stopped Wlad from doing well. I think while it lasted he would bring a brutal fight to both Klitschkos. Very dangerous opponent if he can improve his ring IQ and technique.
A feeble chin is never a disgrace, it's just a weakness. And Wlad had to change his seek and destroy style, because of his chin problem. Hari's is clearly worse (multiple early T/KO losses) and his style is even more open as Wlad's was early in his career. He clearly has punching power, and clearly has good boxing skills. But I expect his (lack of) defence will make him a punchbag for the Klits (if he ever makes it that far). And this is coming from a Dutch guy.
Talk about overrated, people already talking about him vs the Klitschkos. He's never going to get in the top 10, much less fight a Klitschko, don't worry about that.
The last time he got destroyed was by overeem. Badr look naturaly skinny and lanky since that fight. The next time he fought overeem he must have packed a good 20lbs of muscle. This leads me to believe he was on the roids. If he fight in the US he will be tested and will have to stay away from the roids. His speed and stamina will take a hit. He chin wasn't all that as well. Can't see him do good in boxing once he hits higher level competetition.
A friend of mine thinks that Hari (and his agent/manager/promotor) could make much more $$'s by promoting/hyping a fight between Hari vs either of the Kitschko's straight away (for several months, while meanwhile Badr prepares himself) instead of Hari trying to climb the ladder to eventually reach one of the Klitschko's. You have to admit, it is promotable all accross the globe: The boxing HW champion vs the K1 & It's Showtime HW champion.
That's what my friends' theory is based on, and I can't disagree. Straight away for the big $'s: Klitschko vs Hari
