Ward - Bute is the fight that should get made, but if Ward wants a less dangerous fight before that, it is okay.

Bute is more qualified to meet Ward now, than Ward was when he fought Kessler.

When Bute beat Andrade, Andrade was #3 SMW first time around and #5 second time around. Now I agree Bute seemed a bit lucky not to have a loss to Andrade, but no more lucky than Ward was against D Boone.

If you take away Kessler, I dont think there is anything in it as Green and Abraham were nothing wins and Bika was beaten clearer by Bute. Froch hasnt beaten any top SMWs

Why would I think Froch would beat Calzaghe? I never said anything remotely similar. Frochs workrate would always let him down as it would many other previous SMW world champs and has done before and has almost cost him more than once also.
I think it will cost him again against Bute.
I dont think Ward would have gone as far if he was around a few years previous and doubt he would have beaten a fighter like H Wharton.

My last phrase wasn't a lie it was just a shot in the dark; i don't believe best version of Froch beats any version of Calzaghe and i asume you don't think that either; but that's just a fantasy match and i don't really care about them at all.

If i use your logic then i must say the Bute of 1999 was faster and sharper then Bute 2012 and that his peak momment was a close defeat to Dorel Simion in an elimination match to determine Romania's participant to the pre-olympic tournament. Actually most thought the winner of this match will certainly win a metal , maybe gold, in the 2000 Sydney Olympics (this partially happened, Simion won the pre-olympic tournament and went to take the bronze at Welterweight). Now Dorel Simion took the gold metal at Light Welterweight both in the 1997 World Amateur Championships and 1998 European Amateur Championships and was awarded Best Romanian Sportsman in 1997 and 1998 ( and mind you where i live, in the nineties this award ussualy went to Gh. Hagi or Gh. Popescu - i don't know if you heard of them but around here football was and stil is a big thing even if now the results are missing- ); Simion couldn't make the 63.5 Kg limit so he wanted to fight at 67; Bute challenged him for the olympic spot and the rest, how they say, is history: a dissapointed Bute moved to Canada to became a pro fighter, while the very talented but spoiled Simion brothers refused a multi-million (probably trap-)contract offered by Don King.
