Larry Holmes Tim Witherspoon Mike Tyson Evander Holyfield Lennox Lewis Ray Mercer Tony Tucker Riddick Bowe George Foreman (90s)
I know who won't.. Ray Mercer 90s Foreman Tony Tucker Tim Witherspoon -These guys are grossly overrated. Who might.. Holyfield Holmes -Great fighters, but not sure boxing Wlad is the best way to go. Evander in particular really struggled against big men who could control the distance. Best shot... Bowe-Pressure fighter with size. Takes too much punishment, would struggle to get his inside game going against Wlad's clinching. Not too bright. Tyson-Great at scoring over jabs, but struggled against the clinch. Not nearly as effective in the middle rounds. Wlad may wear him down and take him late. But great chance of taking him out early. Lewis-Effective pressure with length. Very intellgent and adaptive. Unlike Bowe, can also work in the clinch.
Larry Holmes i would say 50/50 but i'm slightly leaning in Wlads favor, but for me to hard to pick. Wlad stops Whiterspoon. Tyson KOs Wlad, we have seen Wlads jab myth is over against Haye, Haye was made to look like Whitaker in there, Mike has much better head movement than Haye better chin power speed combination footwork etc, knows how to fight small 70/30 in favor of Mike (When i sad jab myth is that his jab is best ever and no one cames close to Wlad in jab department, while it is one of the best ever i dont think its the best, strongest yes) . Tyson is pretty much worse style match up for Wlad. Evander Holyfield 55/45 in favor of Wlad, Evander got hit alot and it would cast him against Wlad, i would say Wlad ud 8 4 or 7 5. Lennox Lewis stops Wlad, Wlad fights just to safety first he gives to much respect even to Haye, and Lennox would take advantage of that, you can not beat Lewis with safety first style... Ray Mercer losses wide UD Tony Tucker losses to Wlad Riddick Bowe if we take best Bowe against best Wlad i would say 50/50 fight, but since we never knew what we will get with bowe i would say Wlad wins 8 out of 10 since if motivated in shape Bowe comes its very hard fight for any fighter!!! Foreman losses UD Wlad would not stop him, because he would not go for a kill when he can get easy UD Wlad would just cruise to decision!
Larry Holmes -- outworks Wlad, but can't hurt him. Close decision, could go either way. Tim Witherspoon -- Wlad decision or TKO 11/12 Mike Tyson -- either KO's Wlad inside 3 or gets stopped in 11/12 Evander Holyfield -- probably loses a decision, unless he catches Wlad Lennox Lewis -- starches Wlad within 6. Brutal Rahman-esque KO. Ray Mercer -- has a puncher's chance, but loses a decision Tony Tucker -- loses a decision Riddick Bowe -- on a good night, starches Wlad inside 6. Bad night loses a decision. George Foreman (90s) -- puncher's chance. Wlad doesn't engage enough to make it happen, though. Boring Wlad/Haye type affair.
Wlad beats Larry Holmes clear but not wide decision Wlad via Ko against Tim Witherspoon Wlad could get catched in the first rounds against Mike Tyson or wins via late ko Evander Holyfield losses to wlad a wide decision Lennox Lewis, 50-50 fight, wlad could win via knockout or decision or lose via ko Wlad beats Ray Mercer via late ko or wide decision Wlad via ko againstTony Tucker wlad completely ****s up Riddick Bowe wlad via wide decision or loses via late ko against George Foreman (90s)
Holmes would have out-jabbed and outsped him en route to a KO in the middle rounds. Tyson would have destroyed him, probably in the first. Holyfield would have been a good fight. He struggled with rangy fighters who could jab at times but he would probably get inside at some point at which time Wlad's Glass Jaw is in peril. Lewis destroys him, it wouldn't even be close. Foreman also KOs him after losing the first four or five.
The only reason Haye looked like Whitaker was at the expense of his entire offense being gone. Most pro boxers whos sole mission it is to not get tagged can be incredibly elusive, the trick is to actually being able to hit the other guy as well.
Pretty much this. Even prime Tyson was incredibly meak and subdued in a clinch so i actually give Wlad a pretty good chance at this.
Just popped in to say what an exceptional thread this is created by such a highly esteemed poster :bowdown
