Evander didn't become a punching bag until he injured his shoulder...swinging at and missing Byrd.

If you were to ask me who's career is better between ike and vitali, I wouldn't even hesitate.

Vitali now at age 40 is the consensus number 2 in the world which is something i'm not sure ike ever achieved.

Ike's victory over byrd is better than vitali's over sanders but vitali has a few victories better than tua.

Plus styles make fights don't they, I think overall it's hard to gauge because we don't know how good ike would have been. I'm fairly confident in saying vitali is a more dangerous foe than ike.

I was talking about the best victories, of course.

    A few better than Tua?

I don't rate Vitali H2H abilities highly so i guess we'll have to agree to disagree on that.

Think Sanders is probably his best win, him or fat Kirk, unless Kevin Johnson comes back and does something

Yeah i'd agree although i'd add fat peter in there.

Johnson is in the next category with adamek, arreola etc.

I'd put the peter victory above ike's over tua though.

Ike definitely has the best victory and I don't think anyone would seriously debate it.

Peter certainly and a couple more on the level but in more dominant fashion.

I don't particularly rate vitali's h2h capabilities high neither. I don't think anyone would have an easy night with it but I certainly don't see him as a top ten hw h2h. That being said i'm just totally unconvinced with how good ike actually would have been.

In other news, Hasim Rahman's best win is better than anything Joe Louis, Larry Holmes, or Mike Tyson ever did. :nut

Vitali's resume is generally pretty poor but I disagree with you both on the H2H, I'm not sure if he quite makes the top 10 H2H but there's a good case he is based on dominance and the fact he completely intimidates nearly everyone he faces. Getting past his jab alone alone and not getting tagged with a right is a big ask

Ibeabuchi also H2H is an all time top fighter, technically very very good pressure fighter, great stamina, strength of a bull

1 thing you have to give Vitali about the Sanders fight is he did come through some early adversity there

Peter was a bit rubbish though really, technically poor and out of shape although obviously strong. You could make a case based on him beating shot versions of Maskeev and Toney (although the first fight was a robbery imo).

I'd rank Kirk Johnson above Peter, although another who came into the fight in no shape to fight

Johnson I like as a technician, would like to see him get in the mix. Actually why can't any of the top contenders actually fight each other, it's like all the top10 never fight any more?

Rahman also has 2 wins better than Vitali :deal

    H2H Tua destroys Peter.

And i don't think beating ancient Maskaev and almost shot Toney is that much of an achievement.

The question is who were these opponents as the two best Vitali faced weren't much intimidated.

That's a good question as today we have fighters like Boytsov in top 10 and who have he fought?

Lennox plus a younger Sanders > Vitali's best 2 wins. Now stop crying like a *****

Peter was just ****ing ****, Audley Harrison beat Peter easily FFS

The only reason you hype up Peter and Archie Moore (who was great) is because you're a white supremacist and you're favourite boxers that you're most defensive of are Marciano and the Klit bros. All great fighters, with 1 thing in common, their white, other than that their **** all alike and that's the only reason you support them. The bad news for you though is Marciano's paternal line is black

Rahman's resume is a level above vitali's and that isn't up for debate.

Pp I still disagree about vitali, he never impresses me in terms of h2h greatness.

Ike showed top promise it'd have been great seeing him realise it.

Kirk johnson was a good fighter before he looked like a whale inexplicably for his biggest fight.

Does Wlad impresses you in terms of H2H, Luf?
